The gap is being closed on both lines so don't throw in the tile quite yet. You know LSU could conceivably beat Bama but then drop one of UTk, UF, Aubie, A&M (Lawd forbid!) etc. 11-1 could end up that way.

I find it’s very hard to give a “floor” based on record, without knowing circumstances. For example, if I said that LSU goes 10-2 with losses to Auburn and Alabama, most would be disappointed. But if I told you that auburn team went 11-1 with their only loss being to Bama and Bama went 12-0, it starts to look less like a bad loss. Do I think we should be able to go 11-1 this year? For sure. But without knowing the exact strength of our competition I can’t say beyond a shadow of a doubt what record I wouldn’t be upset with

the only answer is 10-2.

11-1 is not the floor. 9-3 isn’t good enough.

10 win regular season. I’ll judge the bowl game when I actually know who the opponent is.

if the answer is (10-2), it also must include a victory over Bama.

I just want to see progress and Bama is the only valid measuring sick we've got. The quality of the rest of the teams on our schedule varies year to year but Bama is always Bama. It's not about the overall record and it's not about riding Bama's dick. It's about measuring our improvement in the most accurate way we've got. Do well against Bama and the rest of the pieces will fall into place.

Win SEC West or make playoff or both regardless of record.

LSU should be "competing for championships".

In one half.... That's very disturbing.....

Not more than 2 losses, including bowl game.

Those saying 11-1 in regular season are a joke. That's been done once, maybe twice in lsu's history?

But it’s been done a dozen times by Alabama, USC Notre Dame, and a half dozen times by Oklahoma, Texas, Ohio State, Miami, Penn State, and Nebraska.

This is off the top of my head, with no research, so I’m likely wrong about a couple. But the point is that if LSU is to become a blueblood again we have to start contending in most years. Contending means one regular season loss unless we’re lucky like in 2007.

Everyone knows that this year is a peak year for LSU. Our 2020 team will have inferior prospects than our 2019 team. We will be ravaged at the two most important positions in college football - Dline and QB. If we don’t make the playoffs this year I think it’s unlikely Orgeron ever will. FTR, I think we make it this year - SEC Champs and CFP appearance.

The schedule should be easier

The schedule is easier when we’re better and harder when we’re worse. In fact, the schedule is usually about the same.LSU will face one really good team this year. Every other team could finish out of the top 25 with a couple of bad breaks. This is true almost every year. The only year I can recall having a really tough schedule was the year we went undefeated.

I don’t think this is our year but it’s certainly got to be within the next 2

Senior good QB, return everyone on offense except the TE and an average lineman, return the entire dline PLUS Chaisson, and return two first rounders in the secondary. Dude, THIS is our year.

In 2020 we will be dealing with a depth problem on our dline, breaking in a QB, and a weak talent pool at Oline.

I haven't looked it up, but I believe lsu has won 11 regular season games one time in their history.

Stop with this bullshite. For most of LSU’s history we played fewer games. Of course the win total was lower. Also, LSU was not a contender for most of its history. That changed with Nick Saban. Miles kept us up there for the first half of his tenure, then we slipped. We fired him because of a lack of 11 win regular seasons. We hired Orgeron to return us to the top of the college football world. And 10-2 regular seasons is NOT the top. Get us there or get gone!

So you EXPECT this team to do something that has been done twice in our long history? Or else? Lol

He is correct. I really think lsu has a shot at 11-1 if we remain healthy. But, 10-2 shows continued improvement and would put us in line for a very good bowl game and knocking on the door of a top 5 finish. Hell, that record won Les his NC. That is not a failure.

9-3 is failure, imo.

Here’s an even more disturbing fact- The Citadel scored more on Bama in one game than we have in 3 years.

This has to be fixed this year.

The minimum should be 10 wins. I expect LSU to win 10 games during the regular season. I think the Tigers lose at Alabama and lose to Mississippi State on the road.

10-2.
