What makes this years LSU defense different from last year’s defense?

IMO it’s LSU’s d-line domination that appears to be the difference maker over last years defense. What makes that so valuable to a defense?

All defensive secondaries will have blown coverages, some more than others which leads to quick scores but not if the QB is constantly on his #ss.

They haven’t announced that they’re the best ever en route to a .500 season.

Who is calling the defense makes a difference.

Players clearly hated the dc last yr. That matters.

The d line is another yr older.
Same with linebacker.
Same with corner.

Hopefully we don’t leave Flott in Man on Man with every teams beat WR and our Safeties have a clue what they’re doing.

This year, the defensive players actually know the defense. Last year due to the Covid Pandemic, they were taught via Zoom and they also didn't get any practice reps. Hence, it was preordained that they wouldn't know what they were doing and as we all saw, they didn't.

Why is it that this same excuse doesn't apply to the rest of college football, and only to LSU, Tiger Ree Jr?

Because the words "O fricked up" aren't allowed to come from some people's mouth.

Pirate King, Tiger Ree, and this guy (which is probably one of their alters)

its true. It must have been hard for O with lsu being the only school to be effected by covid issues last season.

Pring practice and more DL depth. The linebackers understand their assignments in a 4-3.

That new offense Mike Leach installed via zoom last off season kicked our arse.

Oh, and that brand new offense and defense that Eliah Drinkwitz installed via zoom sure looked good against LSU too.

Both those teams must have better players than LSU, because clearly our coaches are better. Otherwise how could we lose to a team with worse coaches and worse players?

When you’re lined up right and know what you’re doing you can play fast.

Last year LSU’s defense had more mental breakdowns then Joe Biden and Donald Trump combined.

You do know the defensive coordinator has never made a Defensive call during a game.
