New Orleans has a decent number of Bama grads walking around.

Why?

Hell if I know. Alabama has improved drastically in terms of academics. That said, it's still "Alabama." Point being, a degree from there will only get you so far (basically, the major cities throughout SEC states).

I've found that parts of New Orleans have a superiority complex to LSU. They, for some unbeknownst reason, have a false sense of self-importance and think LSU is beneath them.

The "false sense of self-importance" is the same in Charleston, yet, USC is a perfectly viable option for the South of Broad types. Hell, you'll see tons of USC and The Citadel flags and the graduates are warmly welcomed.

got a good friend, black, who has been wearing Bama gear since Jefferson's fight in Shady's - he got butthurt over some LSU cracka fans making racist remarks in comment threads, says he ain't ever cheering for LSU again, wears Bama gear to piss off all the racists, etc...

No amount of pointing out that Bama has just as many racist fans as LSU has ever changed his mind. Oh well...

This whole Lafayette trope is bullshite and simply not true.
I see it every day. I know several, and see ten times more.

Frenchies are the most butthurt people on earth, and the UL-L anti-LSU bitches are a subculture in Lafayette. I've seen people get harassed in restaurants for wearing LSU merch.

Lafayette owns this thread.

Hammond

How much time have you spent in Hammond? I’ve lived in the area for 40 years, very pro-LSU town. The only other colors you see here routinely are the green and gold of SLU. That being said, even one La-native Bama fan is too much for any town in Louisiana.

What parts of town?

Maybe I need to pay more attention but it seems like if it was as bad as people say, I would realize it

So they go to the school that lots of Georgia kids go to when they want a football school but can’t get into Georgia.

Weird.

Just driving up and down Johnston St. I see Red A's on vehicles all the time.

I grew up here. I know multiple people who work for and support ULL in a million different ways. Many are sidewalk Bama fans. Many more are just rabid anti-LSU fans.

The Walmart near ULL campus. They wear there bama gear just to piss off LSU fans. They have such penis envy it’s really sad. SMH

Is that ULL or ULM. Not to be flippant but Constitutionally there is no such thing as UL.

In 2017 at my hotel in Meridian, MS, I met SIX ULL fans decked head-to-toe in bama wear. I did not know they were from Lafayette and struck up a convo with them in the lobby. It turns out they were all 6 ULL grads, in their 40's, and all 6 had ULL fball season tickets. I questioned them about what their connection to alabama was. 'We just like bama." was their collective wisdom. One of them said they had liked Bama since about 2008.

In 2018, two young men sat next to us in TS decked out in alabama sweat suits. They were friendly enough and we talked. Turns out one was an ULL student and the other was his pal who lived in Duson. We just like alabama, they said. They had no connection to the state of alabama nor to the Univ of Alabama.

Don't tell me there are no Alabama "fans" in Lafayette Parish who have no connection to alabama except they hate LSU sports or are bandwagon fans.

I'm sitting in Legends in Lafayette, in an LSU pull over, with an LSU hat, as we speak. Nobody has said a word.
