Come on man. If this was the case, the whole starting lineup would be freshman. He was given an opportunity in practice and was just not as good as others. From all accounts, he is a fine young man and I wish him well

In reality, we have no idea to what extent he was given an opportunity. We dont get to see practice. Neither does the media. If you assume that he had that opportunity, you're right. If he didnt, then the staff liked someone else more. Thats life. Lets move on.

All I know is when Etling plays all 4 quarters and ends the game with something line 14/24 for 285 yards and 2TDs, 0 interceptions people are going to completely lose their shite after seeing what Scott did in a fricking Juco game.

Dude, he is playing for Miss. juco. He is not an SEC caliber qb. His performance last night means absolutely nothing

I dont know about "SEC" caliber. But i can't say that it means nothing. It means he played well. I dont believe that the SEC produces elite QBs. It's a RB and running QB conference.

Thread is not about Etling! That's said, I love Etling. Very under appreciated. He will silence doubters this season!

I'm not sure how you have anywhere near enough information to suggest he's not an SEC caliber QB. He's in his second year and will likely end up in FBS football next year. Maybe even on an SEC roster.

Happy for Scott. JF3 lit it up for 5 TDs in a game and he's on his fourth school playing WR. It's juco

I think everyone would be thrilled if Etling had that line.

The quality of talent inbthat juco division is dog shite. They are playing with D1 players vs kids that for the most part won't ever play ball again after juco

Only a handful of this MS school have any talent. The one last night was not one of those.

Oh this is true. Usually it's the backup the fans are calling for. Now it will be the 4th string transfer. Same shite different year.

I thought EMCC was like a 5A Louisiana HS?
I wouldn't put too much stock in those numbers.

Etling and the two fresh will be more than adequate for LSU at the qb positon.

Yeah and don't forget MS plays shite football against shite defenses. Don't forget that narrative just because a LA boy is now playing in MS. Last year it was the boy from MS is not really that good because he played in a system against really shitey defense and teams. That's the only way LSJ can possibly do so well is because he is playing against horrible competition. Ya'll remember that, right??

I'm going with a different interpretation.

Some people just perform much better when the lights are on. They may not light it up in practice, but something about a stage makes them better (and some are the opposite: practice all stars who collapse under pressure).

Sure the stats are inflated in JUCO, but Scott may also just be a gamer . Does that mean he would have the same success in the SEC ? Unlikely. But this indicates he may be better than he was given credit for

Huh? Its JUCO. The players are from all over the country! Its not "Mississippi" ball.

It tells us that Scott had a great game. His single game stats are slightly better than Myles Brennan's average high school numbers and much better than Lowell Narcisse's freshman and sophomore numbers in high school.

If you read this and say that's not a good comparison given ages and comp level, now you have your answer.

I totally agree I was just being rudely sarcastic. Being from Mississippi and all. I have seen Lindsay play in person and at practice and he is a very very good qb and a fine intelligent young man. His future is bright and he will be great at whatever he decides to do. He will not be in Juco for long. I don't know where he's going to end up but it will be somewhere that he will shine..
