They both are impressive for freshman QBs with no spring. Max has the better complete game and obviously the better win.

I feel comfortable with both moving forward. Our QB recruiting is finally taking off.

We said the same after TJs first game.

Just be happy we have two good, young talents

Do not chisel the granite just yet. Finley's got the gun - and more. He's got HUGE potential. Any SEC school would love to get their hands on him. Hard to believe LSU has this pleasant QB problem after 40 years in the desert.

There is a big difference between beating SC on the road and the number 6 UF gators on the road.

TJs start was at home against a shity South Carolina team. Fool gold like Marcus Randall in 2002.

Max was on road at the swamp against SEC East Champs

Apples and oranges.

Yeah you’re comparing apples to oranges with TJs losses as well regarding O-line play. I agree Max is the starter, O-line played great last night as compared to the rest of the season.

Both are good QBs when they aren’t being hit every play. Max’s feet make him superior though

One thing I noticed last night is that Max talks about ball with his teammates on the sidelines a lot. I really think that communication pays off. They seemed to respond to his toughness on that play where he got laid out on the sideline.

Max is the man going forward
Even in earlier season game-time you can see Max has the raw tools to be really good - just needs time to gain experience.
I thought I read TJ's body language last night like he's gone eventually.
Max is Burrow's younger brother!

You say we as if it was the entire board wanting TJ to start. Quite a few lobbied for Max to get the start even after the USC game. I would say USC was Finley’s best game and they aren’t half the team Florida is.

When your o-line is struggling you need a QB who can move in the pocket and be accurate on slants and screens. His longer throws looked good too but simply moving the chains and sustaining drives takes the pressure off the defense. I also like Max's toughness - gets clobbered sometimes and bounces up.

THat's the key Max can run out of trouble, has a much better pocket presence and appears to have the sense to protect the ball better than TJ. Yeah TJ can whip the ball with velocity, but consistency is lacking big time.

Max is better in the pocket and protects the football. He gives us the best chance to win.

Let's not compare TJ having to face bama vs. Max getting a much worse Florida defense, combined with a fire being like under our defense, finally. I have been impressed with both this year, Max got some great reps last night, after next week we'll see if there's a continued trend of improvement.

agreed. Nobody had seen him before. So yes, max definitely needs to start, however, I’m not saying he is the future at this point. We know better and can never take first starts as gospel.

Alls I know is that TD he dropped in over the safety was a thing of NFL-level beauty.

The slight escape to the left, checking up and setting his feet, then getting hit as he let go a pristine touch pass.

That was a “wow” moment.

The difference is, It’s obvious Max has a better handle on the offense and is the better option. If anybody questions that, just go find the play where one FL player came free and Max hit the hot route right where the guy came from. That lets you know the guy “ gets it”. That being said, that doesn’t mean Finley can’t “get it” either and if he does, he definitely has the tools to be a great QB.

Johnson seems more capable of doing things on his own. Finley will need better OL play. I think both are very talented, but if I had to pick one over the other right now, it would be Johnson. With that said, I think Finley could develop and be a suitable starter. Either way, we are fine with talent at the QB position.

We were running an auburn offense at times and Florida was not ready for it. Really have to hand to whoever came up with the game plan.
