Just wondering what y'all are thinking.
Do you want an offensive minded coach or a defensive minded coach?

Well it depends when he is fired. There will be a totally new hot set of names at the end of the season that nobody in talking about now.

If you are talking 2 years, 5 years, 10 years, who the hell is supposed to know that?

It would sure be nice to have an offensive minded head coach and retain aranda.

I think y'all should hire an offensive minded coach because even if Aranda leaves, I think it's easier to hire good defensive coordinators than offensive coordinators.

If it came to that and he’s still available, I’d like to see them take a chance on Neal Brown. If he keeps up his trajectory, some P5 program is going to get a really good coach from Troy sooner than later.

I would be ok with Dave Aranda also.

Aranda has right of first offer (I know that's a real-estate term but it's the closest thing I know of to describe it). Basically we have to offer him the gig and at least attempt to negotiate a contract before we can look elsewhere if O is canned. At least that is how it was explained to me. Someone that is a lawyer may be able to put it into better terms for we laymen.

An offensive minded coach. What makes you think he will be fired?

I'm not even an O fan or a believer he'll succeed, but this question is quite premature. I'm taking a wait and see approach to the season.
