Sounds like it had everything to do with culture.

So close the Campus unless you show tickets because of undesirables ? Deal with the few to leave the many Alone

Easier said than done.

You can limit vehicular traffic but how do you eliminate foot traffic?

Came back for first game since 2019 and see it’s closed now on GameDay. Really pissed me off.

They opened the PMAC this year for fans. That is probably why they closed the Union

Probably way too many people and too little staff to work. Plus I can imagine the big mess that is made but damnit I miss those bathrooms more than anything

In my years going to games from 2012 on the Union was never THAT crowded. It was never as full as a regular lunch time during the school week.

LSU is cheap and lazy like always.

This is annoying AF.

Open it back up, put security in it, bring back the TAF tailgate in the PMAC, and bring the band down after the team. Is nothing about gameday sacred anymore?

No, LSU didn’t want to pay to keep the union open on game days and the athletic department also didn’t want to put up money to keep it open so that’s why they “opened the pmac”. The pmac has always been open to taf, so not much extra expense to open it to the public too. Of course, LSU athletics acted like they were doing us all a big favor by opening the pmac, but they were really just being cheap and using it as a cover for their cheapness.

Unique idea here. Instead of closing the Union completely down on Game Days, (Upsetting and inconveniencing a lot of people in the process) why not just put corrective measures in place to fix the "problem" permanently that caused the closure.

I can't imagine not stopping by the Union on game day to get some McD's burgers before the game or watch a few quarters of the TV game.

BTW, I miss the "Old" Student Union with the Tiger Lair. (Just like the old Tiger Stadium with a lot more "LSU Fan Noise" and music solely supplied by TGBFTL)

The current LSU Hierarchy seems to out of touch with what the majority of LSU fans like and want.; They seem to like change just for the sake of change and not for the better.....

BATON ROUGE - LSU revealed in a press release Tuesday afternoon that it will be partnering with fast-food chain SONIC to welcome the brand's first college campus location in late 2022.

The restaurant will be replacing the McDonald's space on the first floor of LSU's Student Union and will offer its traditional menu in a takeaway style.

"We are excited to be partnering with this popular brand in the LSU Student Union, as we do prioritize the constant review of our many offerings to ensure as much choice and variety as possible," said Margot Hsu Carroll, Assistant Vice President of the university's Auxiliary Services.
