none, I just said yes to be sarcastic

though I do get to choose what shorts I wear and which (lsu) shirt/jacket I wear

ETA: I know it would be ignorant for them to let me make some decisions regarding the turf, and even if I was to now it would just be what I learned while on the job from them, I wouldn't feel comfortable with that and prefer it if I was currently or had been educated in turf management. so as to I am not making choices based on what my boss did but on what I learned in the classroom and had studied

P.S. Toma was down with LSU during Katrina and was very impressed with the job Todd Jeansonne is doing.

In 2005, when the Saints played in Tiger Stadium, the NFL brought in Toma to look at our turf. When I spoke to him on the sidelines, he told me it was the worst he had ever seen.

Just wait ‘til the LA heat really cranks up – when they start watering that infield in between innings -- they won’t be able to cut that turf fast enough. Come regional time it’ll be real nice.

"Just wait ‘til the LA heat really cranks up – when they start watering that infield in between innings -- they won’t be able to cut that turf fast enough. Come regional time it’ll be real nice." See there we go again people. If you do not know by now that MS choice or bullseye bermuda is the current grass on the new box. It is more of a football grass than baseball it grows more lateral than vertical and it is the slowest growing bermuda there is. The downfall to it is it is not very wear tolerant. Another thing is that its last to green up and first to go dormant. But when managed right it makes for one hell of a playing field...

So every year we will have an ugly field until regionals when the grass is "last to green up"?? Yea uuhh that was a smart decision..

Whatever the reasons for the turf problem, it is inexcusable. We pay LSU athletics entirely too much money for crappy turf in Tiger Stadium and now The Box.

Do you think the TAF can pay the Sun to speed up it's path to summer or something? The issues at the new Box have nothing to do with the problems at the stadium.

Go to any golf course in the area right now. The grass looks like shite.

Why don't you bitch about the temperature while you are at it? I PAID GOOD MONEY AND LSU SHOULD BE ABLE TO KEEP THE TEMPERATURE IN THE STADIUM ABOVE 60 DEGREES!!!!

Go look at other college baseball stadiums in the south. Other than Southern, do they have shitty looking turf like ours because it's winter?

$40 million to build this new stadium. Do you not think that is enough money to have a plan for planting and maintaining a new turf? How much more money would it have taken to plan it right?

Everybody else pounds it with Rye grass during the winter and it dyes off when the bermuda comes back. Pretty much all the high schools do it also.

Ask yourself this. Didn't they plan for this?

I could buy this excuse if we didn't have turf issues in Tiger Stadium.

They did but they didn't plan on Gustav. Gustav delayed the arrival and planting of the sod to early Oct. which was about 1 month later than the plan called for grass installation.

None of y'all got a damn clue. The ONLY reason that Bullseye Bermuda was put on baseball was because of the rain delays in construction which caused the structure of the facility to be behind schedule. Therefore the contractors still had to access the playing field of the stadium, which means you cant seed, sod or spig the damn thing, because the contractors would just tear the stuff up. First the field was not seeded with bermuda because you CANT get improved athletic type hybrids, and NO professional operations do that. Second, the date that the field was finally closed to all contractors with the exception of Munie, the field contractor, was to late in the year to allow a spriging process which requires the field to be GROWN IN. Third, since you dont want to place a sod layer, which has typically developed an organic layer already from being grown on the farm, Bullseye was the ONLY choice for the field because it was the only turf LSU was able to purchase at that point in the year as WASHED sod.
Everyone that bitches about the turf management at LSU has no damn idea what the hell they are talking about. Got anymore "brainbusters" y'all need answers to about turf, then bring it.

Not you again? Shouldn't you be looking up Bermuda Grass on Wikipedia or something so you can argue some more about how much you know.
