LL Bean Helix Waterfowl Waders
Posted by topnotchtiger on 10/27/11 at 6:59 pm
Just an FYI....you cannot find many reviews on these waders, but I decided to go for it since LL Bean has a 100% satisfaction guaranteed lifetime warranty. Most the reviews out there state that they are undersized, but I bought a size 10 large and I am 6'1" 215 and they fit like a charm. Will post an update later after I go on a scouting trip this weekend.
Here is the link...
LINK
They fit well and i came out of a day of scouting and brushing multiple blinds bone dry...with the exception of my feet. 1200 grams of thinsulate with just normal crew socks on and my feet were pretty damp. Pockets are well placed and waterproof, so i had no bones about keeping my phone in it. Stayed comfortable all day while walking through the marsh and paddling for what seemed to be miles.

All these posts and no one mentioned m4carbine.net
ar15.com is ok but more geared towards airsofter style community, sure decent stuff, but m4 is geared towards knowledge based threads....

Bad idea for a 1911 because you end up permanetly modifying the dust cover for most apps. Get a glock or some other polymer pistol for this idea.

Looks like junk. Spend money on ammo and get good with what you have. Buy nothing other than Magpul or VLTOR.

Better get ready to come up with some cash....BADASS 1911's can cost between $1500 to $4000. Not many "informed" individuals would give you more than $275ish on a used LCP

It is good stuff, nice deep green color, and aggressive growth. They have it at the Soccer and Softball facilities. Dunham High has it on their football field as well.

Wasted an hour on that. Totally not worth it. They follow logistics and salvage people getting all their gear together to fight the fire and salvage the rig, and then guess what.....it sinks. Dont waste your time with it.

Exactly as many have said...QB's will call out on nearly every play the number of the mike linebacker...i.e.; 56 is mike. It is to aid the offensive line in its protection on passing plays and runblocking to assist the RB in getting through the linebackers to the secondary.

Not as hard as the original MW...watch out for the favela (guys on roofs) and getting downhill to the LZ after leaving Makarovs safe house took me 20-30 trys for some reason...just kept dying repeatedly!

Your initials have got to be BH or DH. One of the two. You must really hate that guy?

I am well aware that he shared the award with Kershaw. Why so defesive my man?

I pretty much agree with what you said here. The guy recieved an award named after Toma for his efforts post-katrina, and for being in charge of a facility that was able to host NFL and college teams in the same weekend.

I agree with everything you said. We shall see with this new guy. Yeah, he is a certified guy and yeah he has won field of the year before, but he is now at LSU where I imagine he will be under more restraints then he ever was at Oregon. And Oregon has a synthetic football field anyway..... we shall see how he does.
I wish him the best of luck.

By timeline im saying that those charged with the responsibilty of choosing the grass may have taken into consideration the "timeline" for construction, and that the contractors most certainly were going to be behind schedule for the plant date of Sep 1. Since the dept. wanted washed sod and you couldnt get celebration that way, then i guess bullseye was the choice they made. You just simply did not have time to grow it in.
I went to my first game on friday. I would agree that the field looked like crap. A lot of dormant bermuda still showing through. But as i have been told they were not even able to overseed the field until the begining of January, and probably went with lite rate to reduce competition for the grass when it comes out of dormancy.
behind the plate= crap, but i was told that it gets NO direct sunlight
infront of the plate= crap, because of BP

turf55,
why was the decision maded to go with bullseye? because it was what was avilavble at the time of plant. Was it picked in advance? Yes, but with the timeline being taken into consideration im sure. But, trying to cover something up, no way. I could give a crap if the field looks like a damn cow pasture. Grass is for the fans, dirt is for the players.
Now, as far as choosing to go with bullseye over celebration, it has to be due to timeline issues, not because of liking bullseye, or wanting to give it a try on baseball.
At the old box when the infield was lost to disease, they went back with celebration.
When the department redid the field at the old tiger park, what did they go with, celebration.
And when the timeline was able to permit the grow in of the field at the new tiger park, what did they plant, celebration.
when the department ripped out the best looking soccer field in the SEC to redo it, what did they go with, CELEBRATION.
So the only reason that they went with bullseye in the new box has to be due to timeline issues.
As far as the stadium goes, i got know clue why they chose bulleye.

None of y'all got a damn clue. The ONLY reason that Bullseye Bermuda was put on baseball was because of the rain delays in construction which caused the structure of the facility to be behind schedule. Therefore the contractors still had to access the playing field of the stadium, which means you cant seed, sod or spig the damn thing, because the contractors would just tear the stuff up. First the field was not seeded with bermuda because you CANT get improved athletic type hybrids, and NO professional operations do that. Second, the date that the field was finally closed to all contractors with the exception of Munie, the field contractor, was to late in the year to allow a spriging process which requires the field to be GROWN IN. Third, since you dont want to place a sod layer, which has typically developed an organic layer already from being grown on the farm, Bullseye was the ONLY choice for the field because it was the only turf LSU was able to purchase at that point in the year as WASHED sod.
Everyone that bitches about the turf management at LSU has no damn idea what the hell they are talking about. Got anymore "brainbusters" y'all need answers to about turf, then bring it.
"so if ya dont know, now ya know"
