Yes. LSU grad school doesn't care what your athletic statistics are..

Probably was totally dependent on which grad program he was trying to get in. I would expect some are very limited and those programs probably don't take into consideration that he is a football player.

It seemed like he was impressive earlier last year and later I was thinking what happened to that guy is he hurt? So he was passed up and then processed.

Im 99.9% sure this is weed related. I think the coaches and/or school are trying to salvage the image of JA, or maybe just their own.

Great motor, always playing hard. He'd be a welcome addition to any team. Have no idea why he was unable to get into grad school. X amount of spots and he didn't get one, no idea why.

The guy who runs the Sports Admin grad program is a huge dick. Wouldn't surprise me if he didn't allow Allen in, unless Allen did meet his requirements. Dude is a known arse. Everyone dreads his course(s). The grad school angle is totally plausable.

He is in Sports Administration. He isn't some nuclear physics major. Anyone who believes the grad school angle is fooling themselves. It was an easy thing to "lie about" for both Allen and lsu
Exactly. The bottom line is that if Allen REALLY wanted to be at LSU this year, and LSU REALLY wanted him on the team, then he would be on the team.

Grad school problems and he got passed up. I'm not 100% sure but I think he was #3 on the chart and even got passed up by an even younger guy. Guess it didn't help Hunter is #1 and got like 20 sacks in the spring game.

lsu2006,
What didn't you get (not trying to be hostile or asinine)? Just trying to fill in the gaps that are missing.

LSU does not offer a grad degree in his chosen field. If they did he could not play at another D-1school.

Bill,
Actually I think it is because Allen is graduating with his undergrad degree this semester and did not get into his desired grad program. If a student athlete graduates, they can transfer without having to sit.

He already graduated. Someone post the pic of Les with the graduates last semester.

Doesn't sound like anyone really knows what the backstory is. To me, it just seems really strange that he would forego his Sr. season as a Tiger. Couldn't grad school wait a semester?
He had to deal with injuries. As others note, he may not have started but he would likely have been in the rotation and seen lots of PT. Will be a great pickup for someone. Allen was very good in our Big Cat drills.

I've heard that grad school program transfer rule changed recently. if you graduate, you can now transfer to another FBS school without loss of eligibility. Whether the graduate degree program is or isn't offered at your original school no longer matters.

I believe this to be true. I wish Jordan Allen well wherever he goes, unless it's against LSU.
