My brother went to LSU in 98. Up until then I didn’t really care how LSU played. I watched the games on tv that were generally FSU, Penn St, ND, and Nebraska. After I went down to visit and go to a game / out to party I was all in.

I was a marginal fan until 1980. I went to LSU with a bunch of buddies from Acadiana high. Life intervened and I ended up going to USL after my freshman year. But one season in the student section of Tiger stadium ruined all other college football for me. I went to one game at USL because I was a senior and figured I should at least go to one game.

My dad and Tommy "Trigger" Allen were good friends in high school in DeRidder in the 60s. My dad's parents were very strict (religious) and wouldn't allow him to go to the games. He would sneak out to go watch Tommy play for DeRidder. When Tommy went to LSU my pops started listening to his games on the radio on 870am. He (and eventually me and my siblings) became die hards after that.

I was born and raised in Oklahoma. My family (from Lafayette)used to visit during the summer, for a month or so. In the mid 90s, one of my cousins (female, no pics) started dating the nephew of the late Jeff Boss, when they were 16 or so. He came up one summer and gave me an LSU hat, so I’ve been a fan since.

Grew up in a big baseball family. Grandfather played in majors and father played college ball and loves the game unconditionally. I was taught to love baseball at an early age. I was born in 93 so I was young when LSU was at the peak of its baseball dynasty. Being in Southeastern part of US my father pulled for LSU when they got to Omaha because they were an SEC team. I wanted to be like my dad so I pulled for them as well. Didn’t hurt matters that they were winning a whole lot of baseball games during that time.

I grew up in Memphis in the 80s but my dad and that side of my family were all from Covington and the surrounding areas. We would go visit quite often and they would all pile around the tv and cheer like crazy for the tigers, needless to say I was converted at a young age. I still catch hell for being from Tennessee but cheering for LSU from most of my buddies but they are obviously just jealous! Geaux tigers! Go to hell Ole Miss!

My dad and uncles were from Alabama but all received athletic scholarships from LSU. My dad said back then everybody was trying to get out of Bama, not Louisiana.

My dad played for the Tigers ‘68-70! He loved LSU and grateful that he was able to play which allowed him to change his life trajectory. Grew up poor in Sulphur, LA and used football to get an education and he has done well! He is thankful for the opportunity that LSU has provided. Now, in the L Club, he gets to go back and enjoy seeing his old teammates….he is 75 and I’m not sure how many more times we will get to go to a game. I make sure to go with him yearly. This year, we went to LSU FSU.
