He has gotten State to consistently win 7 or 8 games a season (the same seasons we've had the past few years) with about a third of the talent we have.

It's simple. Alleva put all his eggs in the Jimbo and Herman baskets. Instead of giving Jimbo a deadline, he allowed Jimbo to play him until the end of the regular season. This was stupid because, as Texas learned, it is almost impossible to lure a successful coach from a top program. And the delay brought UT into the Herman competition. Once UT got involved we were toast, and we had no alternative left but O.

If those were his choices his strategy should have been to give Jimbo a deadline of November 1, then give Herman a one week deadline. In the meantime, he should have been negotiating with a stalking horse to show Herman he was not in the driver seat.

Alleva handled this amatuerishly, then compounded it by giving a $3 million salary and a $12mm buyout to a guy whose dmonstrated earning capacity was $600,000 per year. Alleva is an idiot.

O campaigned for the job, the propaganda was set in motion, and supposedly Duke Riley's Instagram post after the game against A&M convinced Alleva, because Alleva is so incompetent that he fricked up firing Miles 2 years in a row

This is the answer. This was a completely emotional and political hire. That's the only answer.

And given the fact that duke was on his way out, it's just funny that he had something to do with the hire.

Herman is taking over a shite show left by Strong.

Will take awhile to rebuild it.

Oh wait, 3rd game in and he almost upsets #4 USC.

Almost doesn't mean shite, and USC is #5 and overrated as usual, but props to Herman for the turnaround from the Texas team that took the field against Maryland. That's what great coaches do. Let's see if Orgeron can do the same.

They lost 3 or 4 games that year. The levels some of you idiots will go to to make someone else look good while smashing your own is unreal.

I'm starting to wonder if the rumors about bear Bryant still being alive are true, and that reports are he wants the job.

It was one game. One. Game. Was it the worst game in a long time, yes. We know this team is a lot better than what we saw on Saturday. It will be ok.

you don't know shite :lol

word from insiders was JIMBO was a done deal in 2015 but F king screwed the pooch. Yes, we all know herman loved him some shorthorns but money talks man. Alleva got mad and took his toys and went home. Nobody here can speak with 100% absolute authority that both were completely off the table. That is ludicrous.

Hey there. Chin up, little buddy. There's always hope. You just have to know where to find it. I find mine at the bottom of a bottle. I say we all just get super rowdy hammer drunk at every game; like the good ole days.

Alleva is just completely clueless. He's burning our football program to the ground like he was hired by some other rival school to do it.
He is a bean counter; his AD legacy (in addition to damaging the football program under 2 coaches) will be in relation to revenues, not strength of program. He made the beans count. But...
He has no process;. he doesn't know LSU football.
quote:

...Don’t begrudge Ed Orgeron the job. But the process which produced him has been a laughable, ridiculous mess. Alleva is responsible, and so is his boss – LSU president F. King Alexander, who seemingly struggles to produce a single non-disastrous result from his time on campus. Let’s understand that the genesis of this clownshow wasn’t Alleva’s doing so much as it was Alexander’s. Read more: LINK
