We're fans. Sure, we all wish we weren't struggling but whatever, we're improving and that works for most of us given CMM's starting point.
The bottom line is that these are the players and coaches we actually have to work with right now, so we may as deal with it and support them.

How the frick were either of Kelly or Mulkey in a worse situation, some of y’all are truly stupid

McMahon hasn't been competitive against ranked teams. There was no good reason to lose games to Georgia and A&M, and the efforts against Tenn & Bama were sorely inadequate. Last night Cook was unavailable and the whole team came out of the gate shellshocked.
McMahon is okay as a midmajors level coach, but he won't win in the SEC. Woody needs to cut bate quick and try to lure Beard or someone who knows how to win. Even Musselman is a better fit than the pathetic showing we saw last night

But signs of improvement
This is key for me. While there was none, in fact there was regression last year, there have been hints of improvement this year and looking and hoping for more as we get into the second half of SEC play. I want CMM to succeed.

Didn’t McMahon inherit a roster with zero players? I definitely wouldn’t say Kim and Kelly had it worse.

What part about Team Talent Composite don’t you understand? 2021 team had the #5 team talent wise per 247sports.

What do you expect on the road against Tennessee? Now what if they can beat Alabama?

Again that’s football, this is a basketball discussion.

And I answered to a comment that said, the football team was worse off than the basketball team when Both Kelly and McMahon both took over each team. I simply stated that wasn’t true. So that’s how we got off on football.

The basketball team had a composite talent taking of 15 in the country last season but went 2-16 in SEC play.

Also ignoring the fact that McMahon has about 8 seasons of coaching experience compared to 24 for Mulkey.
What a weak argument.
How many years experience did Mulkey have when she won her first Championship. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th?

We have like 7 4 stars on this team
Be careful using basketball star ratings in the same context as football star ratings. Since there are 22 starters in football and only 5 starters in basketball, I will give rare credit to the recruiting services in one aspect. They adjust for that in their ratings of players simply because the pool is much bigger for football.
Thus approximately 400 HS football players per class are rated 4* or above. Approximately 100 HS basketball players per class are rated 4* or above. IMO, that is pretty much spot on. I'm not vouching for the validity of the ordinal rating of an individual player, just giving a mathematical fact! Bottom line: Miller the 65th best player in HS basketball is really equal to about the 260th best player in football. Don't believe me...just look at the numbers I've given above by the recruiting services themselves. Does anyone get excited over signing a football player in the low 4* rating area? I don't.
The 7 4* are Wright, Cook, Collins, Baker, Williams, Reed, Ward. How many of those guys are really quality BB players? Yeah, McMahon's recruiting sucks!

Wow!!! You jumped from having a competitive team to a championship. THAT is a weak/deflective argument. Once again, 8 years is more than enough to show you are a good coach. McMahon had an obscure HS BB prospect (Murray State his only offer) turn into a 1st round 2nd pick and that is exactly how he won at Murray State. Why don't we pray he lucks out again huh.

This board trashes Kim mulkey and Brian Kelly who both arguably inherited a worse situation than McMahon
In what world was either WBB or FB in the same boat as having literally every scholarship player in the transfer portal and only having 1, less than 10% of scholarship athletes, return?

LSU is not a blue blood basketball program
In the nation, correct.
In the SEC wrong.
There was argument on the SEC rant about this.
LSU is probably the 4th best basketball program in the SEC historically.
We have the 4th most final fours and tied for 2nd most regular season SEC championships.
Its time to start acting like we have a better basketball program than what the majority if fans think we have

What is it with this McMahon patience
From year 1 to year 2 we went from bottom of the SEC to middle of the pack, so the trend is up. I'm willing to see if he can get us to upper half in year 3. If we stall or regress in year 3, then sure, it's time to start looking around.

Get a hobby, or something. All you do is post about this.
LSU football and women's basketball have a winning tradition; Men's basketball does not. MBB is going to be judged at a lower standard.
