He’s a tweener but that role fits him best.

Perkins weighs 220lbs. That's a big difference.

and TBH his actual weight is prob closer to 210 if he's listed at 220

He is a playmaker! That is all! Not sure if he fast enough to play safety, but if he is, that's his position...or anywhere he wants to play....

He's also 2-3 inches taller. He had a much bigger frame to add weight and a lot more length, which is what all the best edge rushers in the NFL have. Perkins is listed at 6'1", probably closer to 6'0". In reality, what House was trying to do with him isn't what he's best at now at the college level, but his position at the next level is not going to be an edge rusher but a linebacker. Are you aware of any good edge rushers in the NFL as short as Perkins?

I mean Elvis Dumervil was a beast and he’s only 5’11” on a good day. But I agree Perkins’ natural position is LB. But somebody’s gotta teach him.

He is a pass rusher. I don’t care where you line him up.

OLB/Pass Rusher

Smart NFL teams now find places and scheme for guys who don't fit traditional molds

TE or WR

Too small to play DE and he seems to lack upper body stregnth to shed blockers as an LB. He is used to running around them.

He is an amazing athelete.

Too bad he isn't 5'6'' track star weighing 160 lbs, so we could make him a legendary DE.

I think Perkins is so athletic that most of his young career he's been allowed to roam and make plays and that's what he did for us last year. At this point, he's clearly just an stand up edge rusher that needs to learn how to play LB. I think moving forward in his career he's probably an outside LB because of his quickness. This season he's going to help us by just attacking the ball because he clearly struggled early this season at that LB position.
