I again ask this question that never gets answered.
if not getting HC job offers means you're a shite coach, what does that say about Ed Orgeron? for 29 of his 32 years no one thought enough of his coaching to offer him a coordinators job.
but let me guess it's just another ignorant logic you apply to one coach and not the other.
ETA:
I live off your down votes mommas boy.

holy shite. why aren't all these other storied program doing what bama is doing? lsu isnt close to bama in depth of talent.
the fact that we have posters on here that actually think the only thing keeping us from going on a bama type run,was miles, I mind blowing.
bama is on an unheard of run in the modern era of can. good lord

Downvotes on the rant should be considered a badge of honor.

exactly.
until they make it to where you can see who upvotes or downvote it's meaningless. for all we know it's sec rant lurkers. it's messed up that any sec fan can post on this board but you have to ask for permission to post on their board.

10-2 minimum for LSU Alums, Die-Hards and Realists.
8-4 will satisfy Pump Lumps, Cheerleaders and MA's. (Their standards aren't very high for LSU Sports or anything else)

as usual you sound like the fool.

Vegas line for LSU wins is 9 even, that's the realistic expectation. I think we'll go over but that 5th SEC road game at the swamp is the hook.

Rickdaddy and the Miles lovers will disappear,
This shows how stupid you are. Rickdaddy's position was that Miles needed to be fired. But if someone attacks Miles by exaggerating how bad Miles was, Rickdaddy tilts for him.
You're not going to see rickdaddy arguing with someone who says, "Miles was declining, and it was time to replace him." He WILL argue with someone who says, "Miles was one of the worst coaches in college football." And he would be correct.

I agree with you on that. I also agree with Rickdaddy on wanting to know why nobody even offered O a coordinators position in 29 out of 32 years of football yet we have him the HC position.

Except Florida isn't good. Home or away, they are that good. We haven't lost 2 in a row to them since Tebow was their QB.

Maybe but it reaches the point of ad nauseum...and he sounds bitter doing it...as if trying to convince people we made a mistake by firing his underperforming arse...which we didn't. Did we frick up by Hiring CEO? Who knows....maybe. That remains to be seen. Everyone knows our admin is completely inept and therefore fans shouldnt be surprised.
The fact that he cares THAT MUCH what people think about Miles on a random internet board reflects an unhealthy obsession.
Miles had a great run while he was here...something many anti-Miles posters freely admit....but he left a lot on the table and the program isn't nearly as decorated over the last 15 years as it could have been given the talent that came thru there. That's why many fans won't remember him fondly.
Personally, I liked the man....disliked the coach. He was one, if not the best coaches we've had. But his glaring frick ups over the years and inexplicable decisions that cost us games at times, especially the last few years....will be his legacy. Can't lose to Bama 6 years in a row and expect to be treated as a conquering hero when you retire or get fired. The fact that he had to be fired speaks volumes about his decline as a coach.

Why was O hired as a HC by Ole Miss?? They had to see something to pull the trigger, and they also spoke to people when doing there homework on him that spoke highly of him I'm sure. Also, why would two of the top college football programs appoint this man interim HC after firing their HC's?? Your criticism of Orgeron is unwarranted.
Also, no one is exaggerating any criticism of Miles. Certain things were justified last season when Ensminger only tweaked the offense a little bit and their offensive production took off. Nobody really stopped them offensively last season after Miles was let go except Alabama, and the play calling in that game was conservative at best along with Etling's shaky play. Fla didn't stop them, they beat Fla stupid all over the field except in the red zone where it counted. So, if Canada can improve upon that offensively which it's expected he should. Why shouldn't they be expected to do even better?? It has nothing to do with Alabama's depth like rickdaddy is saying as Bama can only get so many damn players on the field anyways.

One point worth mentioning that conveniently gets left out when talking about O's resume or never being a coordinator... he was Asst. Head Coach at two prior stops (TN and USC/Pete Carrol).
That AHC under Carroll is probably what got him the OM job. Obviously, either he didn't carry much of what he learned to OM.

It all depends on who he beats.
If he goes 9-4, losing to BYU, State, UT, and a bowl game to, say, Michigan , he's in good shape.
If I'm not mistaken, 3 of the last 4 senior QBs at LSU went to the championship game. The only one who didn't was the only one to go to the NFL.

I think that new LSU Head Coach Ed Orgeron is behaving as smart as he can be. Helping his LSU football players to listen to what the Offense and Defense coordinators have to say, and will coach that player to play.
Head Coach Orgeron will not interfere with the rapore his LSU players have with the LSU coordinators.
So all that LSU does is recruit studs to play college football for LSU, I am very optimistic and also hoping that LSU QB's can do their part.

quote:Dramatics? You can make an argument as to what year was the worse for losing key players but it is hardly dramatics to acknowledge that this year we have lost some of the greatest players ever.
Nope. Losing talent to the NFL is an every year thing. This year is a little worse than average, but it's not "the worst ever." That's just dramatics.
Leonard Fournette - Greatest running back in the history of LSU football.
Tredavius White - Would be in the top three greatest CB's we have had.
Jamal Adams - Is in top three safeties.
Riley, Beckwith and Godchaux would easily be in the top 8 at their positions.
Pocic - Top ten offensive linemen.
Add in another nine starters and we lost a great deal.
As to elite talent, that overused phrase only applies to Alabama not us or any other in the SEC. Look at the pre-season team. Alabama has 5 on the first team defense. We have 1, Arden Key who is recovering from surgery and missed all of the post season practice so far. Look at offense - Alabama 4, LSU 1.
No we are not rebuilding from scratch but we are far from elite. A lot of freshmen, RS freshmen and players with little experience will have to contribute quality playing time if we are to compete. Even so I do agree with a likely three losses. But this will not be MEH, it will be a good season given all the uncertainties and changes. Do you not think it will take the offense a while to jell given they have to learn a whole new system? The same with Aranda having to teach Freshmen from scratch.
You are the type of fan who somehow thinks just because our name is LSU that that should guarantee 10 wins a year no matter what. Nope, you still have to play the games and we play a lot of teams with just as proud a heritage as we have.

Im assuming you basing this off last season because the season hasn't started yet...and if so, we lost to them so what does that make us?
