2012 should be in the discussion.
It was the best game imo. It was also the most gut wrenching loss in LSU history for me. The 2011 title game sucked, but I still felt we were pretty equal programs even after the loss. 2012 felt like a game we HAD to have to stay on their level, and the second half comeback only to lose at end was a gut punch.

This is an insane statistic and not in a good way.

2012 and 2014 were absolute backbreakers.
So loud after Jarvis TD and JC Copeland stumbling down the sideline.

1982 We Beat the Bear game should be on the list

1982 when LSU broke the 10 year losing streak In Birmingham!

B was insane intense

There were some great games even though we may have lost. The end around from Yeldon broke our face but we had them on the ropes then choked

What about 2022 and the 2-point conversion in OT?

This one is canceled-out by the 21-0 beating LSU took in the NCG and should not be mentioned at all.

November 3, 1979
LSU lost 3-0 and no one crossed the 50 yard line for most of the game. I was 9 and listened to the game sitting next to my dad on the hallway floor. No lights, transistor radio glowing, and first taste of bourbon. shite, my dad had hair back that day. LSU lost, but started bleeding purple and gold that night.
2019 is my answer to original q&a

I had to Google this, but Charlie Mac beat the Bear in both 1969 and 1970. Had no idea he had ever beaten him, but then I was one and two at the time. I'll be some old timer can tell us how big those two were.
Had to edit. Looks like Bama beat us in 1970.
AI hallucinated the first time around.

2011 is my vote, with 2019 as a distant 2nd.
1988 was one of my favorites to attend. LSU won 19-18 when Phillip Doyle missed a kick on the last play of the game.
Honorable mention:
1997 when we shut them out 27-0
2001 when Josh Reed broke the LSU receiving record in a game
2005 with Dwayne Bowe's overtime TD for the win

B had epic build up and a big moment with Eric Reid’s INT. The natty loss spoils it a little imo.
A. We went up 21 in the first half and Tuas fumble near the goal line. Clyde breaking tackles left and right. Burrow. CEO “we comin”… after so many more years of Saban pain. Special 2019 season. I don’t think you can beat A.

Added! As were 1982 and 2010.
Sorry not putting 2012 on here. My heart is still in pieces.
