Why do we do this to ourselves?

I think it's probably a matter of them feeling comfortable with Curry in pass protection
That’s entirely possible. It’s also possible that Nick and Clyde are just better at this stage. All of them will get an opportunity.

There will be a vocal minority more interested in governing whos allowed to celebrate rather than actually, ya know...celebrating.

I’ve been an OSU fan for decades and am a new LSU fan this year. Here’s my take on this Tiger team. Looking in detail at this year’s team, I see a team with a whole lot of potential. I get that many don’t have confidence in the some of the coaching staff, but just looking at the players, this team reminds me of 2014 Ohio State.

Like that team, it’s got a great returning defense and a star WR group, but with a new QB, an OLine that has gaps to fill, and without a returning RB. Many thought that 2014 was a rebuilding year and they came out of the gate shaky and lost to VaTech thanks to 3 INTs by JT Barrett.

But the QB and the OLine got better and better as the season progressed, an unknown RB named Zeke Elliott came into his own, and by the end of the year were the most efficient offense in CFB and won it all. I’m not saying that that’s going to happen at LSU this year, but not saying it won’t happen either.

Plus I think that even if the OLine isn’t quite ready for the Miami game, Joey B won’t be throwing INTs and losing the Miami game. This Tiger team is full of players who can make a name for themselves.

This feels like the 2011 team imo.

Secondary is entirely too much of a question mark for this. The front 7 could potentially live up to that if the edge guys blow up like Mingo/Montgomery.

This also won't even be in the same stratosphere as good a running team. People forget that team had Ware, Ford, Blue, and Hilliard behind an O-line that was almost 10 deep with potential starters.

I think this years team with last years schedule would be a legitimate playoff contender. Its just hard to imagine getting through this schedule without a couple bad games. I think we beat either Bama or Georgia. I think we will lose 2 out of the Miss St, Florida, Miami, ole miss, arkansas, Atm group.

By the way your HC has said on multiple occasions they’re going to run primarily 3 wide sets and RPOs

I also recall him saying he wouldn't meddle in the offense last year. And would hire the best OC in the country.

I will worry about that if we start out 3-3 or something like that. Is it possible? Sure.

But, right now we are 0-0 like everyone else and have just as much talent as everyone else outside of a handful of teams.

to be fair, the 2011 secondary had its question marks as well. I don't think anyone envisioned them being one of the best ever after having lost PP7.

not saying '18 will be that good, but they have a lot of talent, and a pretty fair amount of game experience to work with.

No,they don't. Read the posts here everyday. Its not many there are a handful of people that hate Orgeron so much they want LSU to fail miserably this year to expedite his dismissal.

The biggest concerns now that we possibly have a QB that can play.

1. Coaching
2. Offensive Line
3. Running Back
4. injuries

I don't see it being 2011, that defense was all-time. I see this team's ceiling as 2013 with an actual defense. I know we don't have a Jeremy Hill type back there, but if we can get that level of production out of a backfield by committee, then look out.

I know it's only spring games and mop up duty, but Burrow looks the part. He has great ball placement, reads defenses well, a solid arm, and mobility. I really think this team can have a great season as long as they can execute up front.
