Adrian Magee is an OK tackle. Deculus has potential to be great though

I agree with you on Magee. I remember when he played against Auburn I was expecting him to get worked, but he actually held his own and their front 7 was no joke. If he starts and can play like that all year, then I think we'll be ok on the OL.

What if your aunt had balls?

Would that make her your uncle?

I’m not saying the team will look the same, just mean it will be an exciting team that attacks and rises to the challenge of a schedule with some top teams to compete against.

The strengths may look different. We’re a 3-4 now vs a 4-3 then, so I see the LBs here being the attacking, disruptive force that our hybrid secondary was then. Minter was good but didn’t really blow up until 2012, so this defense will have a weapon at LB unlike anything that team did.

With a front seven working under Aranda that gives this defense plenty of potential to go on the attack. And guys like Greedy and Delpit still give us plenty of proven playmaking ability in the secondary as well.

This also won't even be in the same stratosphere as good a running team. People forget that team had Ware, Ford, Blue, and Hilliard behind an O-line that was almost 10 deep with potential starters.

No one forgets those guys.

But you’re forgetting that none of those guys had done much of anything going into that season.

Ridley was a true #1 workhorse RB in 2010. Those other guys didn’t have much more PT than this backfield, and they are just as diverse.

Plus, this passing game has the potential to be infinitely more dangerous under Burrow than we ever were with Lee or JJ.

Randle was our only proven guy at WR and Giles did more at TT than he had at that point.

Landry was a non factor and Odell played well early but wasn’t anything close to what we know him as now.

Our freshmen have just as much potential as those guys at least at the college level, and we even have upperclassmen like Davis and Sullivan as well, not to mention our weapons at TE.

I already said I don’t expect us to run the table like ‘11 but I do expect a similar level of excitement and a very aggressive team on both sides of the ball.

If this staff is up to the task like that one was this schedule should be the perfect motivation for them to step up and perform the way that team did.

If they do that NY6 Bowl should be the goal and would set up for a magical run in 19

Based on what? And at what position? There seems to be chatter that he’d be better at guard.

No,they don't. Read the posts here everyday. Its not many there are a handful of people that hate Orgeron so much they want LSU to fail miserably this year to expedite his dismissa
I have read most of the post being negative around Orgeron. Hell I probably posted most of them.

O should have never gotten this job
I think O has done a poor job up to this point
I hope O win the national title this year

These things aren’t mutually exclusive

The 2018 expected scheme won't allow for a 2011 type team.
Ball control, fresh D, make them quit football isn't well supported by WCO and if successful would look more like early 2000s LSU squads, not 2011, jmho.

Odds?
Not great. We were the odds on favorite to win the national title in 16. How’d that work out?

They play the game for a reason. It’s decided on the gridiron. Not on a computer.

Strength and Size. His footwork is the question. At RT, he has the footspeed. His technique has to improve.

We’re good at G right now but he may move in.

Posters that write off freshman are morons. How did La’el Collins do his freshman year?

If all this happens, I predict the O-haters' narrative will be that our team succeeded DESPITE O and Alleva's ineptitude, these guys could have succeeded with even Dinardo, etc., etc.

Going to need a strong running game paired with all the things you mention to make this team special. I'm afraid the o-line and inexperienced and thin RB stable will keep things in check.

I predict you’ll be more worried about anonymous internet posters than the actual results on the field.

If LSU wins big this year no one will complain.
