Starting rioting. A new QB that get injured a few games in, forcing you to play 2 true freshman against SEC defenses. Add that to the top offensive threat that decided not to play, and also new, unproven starting RB’s. Steve Spurrier would have had a serious challenge with this offense.

The playcalling haa been a major disappointment. They have done little to help out the freshman QBs.

agree with you to a point, you’re fooling yourself if you think coaching is a minimal factor. You amass talent and then you teach, scheme and execute.

We haven't had zero staff changes since at least 2002 (web searching gets a little sketchy prior to that.)
Static Coaching Staffs in College Football are for all intents and purposes nonexistent.

He’s in year 1 of new 6yr deal: . If LSU were to terminate Orgeron's contract in the first year, his buyout would be about $27 million; in the second year, about $21 million; in the third, $16.8 million; in the fourth, $12.6 million; in the fifth, $8.4 million; and in the final year, $4.2 million.
This. Considering the amount of money athletic departments and colleges in general have lost amid this faux pandemic they will be strapped for cash to do a buyout so quickly with coach O.

At worst case... CSE is retired and they get a legit OC.
BEST CASE... a new OC and DC.

He isn’t going anywhere until Nussmeier is enrolled and on campus, so get your pitchfork ready.

Can't wait to see who O brings in next. His hires have been abysmal for the most part
Matt Canada
Tommie Robinson
Mickey Joseph
Greg McMahon
James Cregg
Pete Jenkins
Dennis Johnson
Derek Ponamsky
Jerry Sullivan
Kevin Faulk
Scott Linehan

I’d like to see the fine print regarding NCAA trouble and morality clauses Not that I think he will, but if it came to ahead that poorly, they could likely wiggle themselves out of that buyout money.
People keep going to this well, but these a very small chance that’s going to work. Unless the investigation finds ironclad evidence that O was actively involved in covering up these rape allegations, then he isn’t getting fired without getting paid. Period. He could definitely be let go, but it won’t be for free. If the school tried that without an open and shut case, he would sue (which would get ugly and involve a discovery process that no one wants) and it would result in some kind of settlement.
If the school wants to part ways with O after the investigation, they can. They won’t want a court case and O won’t want to be fired and be drug through the mud, so they would likely negotiate a lower buyout, sign NDAs and call it a mutual parting of ways.
Here the thing. If O IS fired with cause, getting out of the buyout won’t mean a fricking thing because the program will be burned to the ground and no big name coach will taking the job for at least two years. If he’s let go in a worse case scenario, we’re Baylor/PSU/Ole Piss for 2 or 3 years minimum.
I’m all for firing O in a couple of years if he doesn’t get things back on track, but banking on the investigation isn’t the way to get rid of him. If he’s guilty, so be it, but then we would have far bigger problems than him being the coach.

Burrow was average in 2018 and GOAT in 2019. Ridiculous
Is any fan too stupid to realize Burrow's improvement from 18 to 19 had as much to do with repetition with his team mates as with coaching.
In 18 he was here about the time Fall practice began.
If Brady had been here in 18, Burrow would not have had the chemistry/trust with his receivers to win a heisman.
You don't believe the freshmen QBs will be twice as good next season no matter who is coaching?

Betch a bottle of bourbon we lose a freshmen QB after this year.

I think changes have to happen. If the D continues to mature, Pellini may survive, but Lineham is gone, or should be gone.
Posted on 12/1/20 at 6:35 pm to HailHailtoMichigan!
Don’t be surprised if that happens. The new narrative from the BR media is that Pelini is a CEO and it’s his underlings who are failing. The cover is already being put in place to keep the staff.

What if there are zero staff changes?
Brennan will be back, and Brennan was averaging Burrow-like numbers in this scheme.
The line should progress somewhat, and once you have a primary back, they will get to know what he likes to run and how to block for him better. Remember, once CEH laid hold of the RB in 19 (and it wasn't immediate), things got better on the ground. Texas was stonewalling us early in the year, by the time we were in the meat of the conference schedule he was beasting on people.
Price and Emery have different styles. Need to pick one and mold the running game around him.
Defense is slowly rounding into shape. Nobody is a draft prospect as of now, so everyone should be back. If they are competent the next couple of games, then this year is written off.
Next season, I wouldn't be surprised to see a 10-2 record.

They put a freeze on hiring... I hope none of you actually believe there will be a major overhaul next year.

This isn't a thing. Players getting twice as better because they got older.
