I like to look at the positive side.

- Lose to Miss St in glorious fashion
- Lose to Troy
- Finish the season very average

How you can pull the 'positive' from this is beyond me. "well, we didn't completely cave!"

i am not an O fan. but i have praised him repeatedly on the following things:

Burrow signing
shutting down la satellite camps
retaining aranda
auburn win
firing cam cameron

i don't think he has any business being the coach at LSU. i hope he proves me wrong. i will give him credit when i think he deserves it.

You can’t explain sound logic to the Otards around here. Anything remotely critical of O and they just jump right in with the “you want LSU to fail. You’re not a fan” crap.

O lives off of lowered expectations.

Well said!

You know the perception: reliable assistant, sketchy head coach, fantastic recruiter, used to rip his shirt off.

This was spot on...

Also..

Orgeron was college football's sort-of loopy uncle. You'd trust him to watch the kids for an afternoon but not into the next day.

Time will tell. If he is very successful...there should be a movie made.

It's pathetic and miserable.

If he can recruit at a high level in all positions (specially QB) he is as good as any other coach.

If O brings back and sustains Championship-level LSU football, it would be the biggest coaching redemption story in college football history.

Who wouldn’t love that?
That would be an amazing story, and I would jump right into the middle of the O bandwagon. I'm sure most of the nega-Tigers would too. The difference between the posi-Tigers and the nega-Tigers is belief. I just don't believe that will happen, but I hope and pray I'm eating crow at the end of O's tenure.

I don't care whom the coach is if we're winning.

What good does it do to constantly criticize the coach at this point. If he wins he stays and if he loses he will be gone.

Of course. That's great advice for your life that you have control over.

There's nothing wrong with looking at the past as well as the present to attempt to create an idea of what may or may not happen. Identifying the positives and negatives of recent and distant past performances is relevant when there are so many similarities. That doesn't make one a bad fan and certainly doesn't mean that those people want LSU to lose.

I will start a thread calling myself a dumbass and in all bold font saying how wrong I was and how horrible of person I am if Ed Orgeron starts winning 10+ consistently.

Period. Would be happy as hell for that to happen. I will shout from the frickin' mountain tops how stupid I am if it happens. Would be glorious.

That's about as simple and accurate a post as one can make. Unfortunately, miserable people love misery.
