Lol Landry has no power or control over that. The boosters will pay whatever tf they want to get the best coach

Why would Kiffen want to leave?

One reason, he wants to win a championship. Ole Miss and Kiffin will never do that together. This is the best he will ever do at Ole Miss. What’s the ceiling at LSU? 2019 perfect season beating more ranked teams than any other college team in history. Ole Miss’ definition of a historic season is making a playoff. That’s it.

They can offer a big contract as long as the state of Louisiana isn't the guarantor according to Landry

I believe it, but what happens if he makes the playoffs and then wins a game? And we are sitting here with no HC....

Won't it be obvious that he is the one? How does he juggle that scenario with his team?

How does LSU just ride with it under a verbal handshake?

How did that go with Washington and Alabama hiring their coach?
If Ole Miss makes it hopefully they don't have a BYE and they get bounced quickly.

If Alabama can hire their guy January 12 I think LSU can and should wait on their guy.

This obvious fact is going right over many folks head. Lane isn’t coming and he certainly wouldn’t come for the price that Napoleon is going to say is the limit-through the BOS.

They're making a big mistake if they're putting all their eggs in the Kiffin basket. He's going to leave us at the altar with a bucket of cash just like Lincoln Riley did. Except this time it's going to be in January after all the other coaches are gone.

I think it depends if they make it when they get bounced.

I know there are a lot of openings, but what other guys are you concerned about going somewhere else? Like a Sumrall to Arkansas?

Kiffin is going to play LSU well into January and we'll be stuck hiring a Mullen type. If you aren't willing to leave your team in December, let's move on.

What coach are you worried about going elsewhere before then?

Wonder if there is any connection between Whit, Kiffen and Miss Kiffen's relationship?

Something about Lane reminds me of the girl that you see yourself with, you make out with her, you're the dream couple on paper but she just flakes.

I want him too I just think he stays at OM after using us and UF to become highest paid coach in history.

It’s a lot more complicated than that now. They changed the transfer portal to only be for one 10-day period starting Jan. 2.

Kiffin is staying at Ole Miss and is currently renegotiating a substantial pay raise.

I'll bet this is exactly the case.

By your method, Florida won’t hire Kiffin because Mullen used to coach in the same state.

LSU may still be thinking about it all in late December, possibly into January

Why would Kiffin trade $9M/year (possibly more now) and no real pressure to win championships in return for less money and pressure to get to the playoff every single year?

Because the one thing he really wants is a Natty!

LSU might land him but he is not so far above other potential hires that LSU should take this risk. This is exactly how LSU ended up with 3rd and 4th choices the last two go arounds. Get off the ride and hire an up and comer who won't demand an absurd guarantee.

And if he does decide to stay at Ole Miss, a 50-50 proposition, fricking LSU is a huge bonus for their fans.
