Hitting is hard. Theres ups and downs. Most of you dipsticks wanted to sell Jones for nickel last week.

He's 1 for 32 in last 33 at bats...that's really bad. His glove and bunting skills are really good.

i mean he crushed the damn ball, wtf yall want?
I want him to hit the frickin ball where they ain’t! To he!! With this “crushing the ball right to somebody”! Ever heard of the old horseshoe and hand grenade saying? Close to a hit don’t cut it! And I’m not bashing the guy, he’s just struggling, big time and needs to break out!

Yeah it's abysmal. He's 4/50 now last 18 games. I think the strategy with him is fairly clear. He either starts or comes in late as a defensive replacement. He never plays a whole game and will get pulled or subbed based on the situation.
Maybe the last couple swings are indicative of him breaking out but he still has to do it. Loud outs don't count. I'm hoping eventually he'll have his Jordan Thompson moment

he has solid defense but it is 3rd base and it isn’t like he has made any memorable plays.
Funny, I remember him starting two 5-4-3 double plays vs Arky. Those were memorable to me.

That’s the point. Routine grounders to a Division 1 infielder on one of the best teams in America who is getting a lot of NIL money should literally not even be discussed. They are used to take up for his horrendous hitting because he can get a 2 hit chopper and throw it 45 feet…people need to realize that they’re basically acknowledging how horrible he is when they applaud casual grounders

The problem is Reaves doesn’t make any routine grounder and also doesn’t hit.
So who do you want at 3B for the rest of this season?

I really thought he was going to get a huge hit with the bases loaded. Or a walk. Made good contact though.

Very hard to believe that CJJ is ok with this tradeoff- defense over hits. High level glove freshman INF could have held it down but now in the portal but the tradeoff for this meltdown I would think you invest in them...hell even fat Pearson can run into something over there.

He didn’t hit at South Carolina either. I think this has mostly been the same braswell minus the end of last season
His averages in the previous three seasons have been between 62 and 118 points higher than this season.
Batting below .200 is not the “same Braswell.”
Edit to add: my post was not intended to tear him down, it was intended to show that historically he’s not a bad player. I trust Braswell in the game more than Reaves at this point.

Let’s be honest…. He was BAD most of the year last year.
He had about 4-6 weeks towards the end fobthe season where he turned it on. Outside of that he was not a good hitter last year or this year.
In addition, last year he was not good in the field the first half of the year.
He has been very solid fielding this year.
