What does LSU's team need to do for JD to get serious Heisman consideration?

1) National Championship game
2) Playoff contender
3) Top 10
4) Top 25
5) unranked

Just depends on defense improvement.

8-4 is still likely without significant strides.

If JD keeps putting up these numbers, it's going to be hard to ignore. He's playing in the SEC.

Some of you guys hate RG3...but we need RG3 to continue to do what he's been doing the last few weeks and make sure to include JD in the conversation. We need to win these games on our schedule. RG3 was a 3 loss Heisman winner.

Caleb and Penix still have to play their toughest games ahead...neither will go undefeated. It's possible to see some of their numbers cool down.

Just beat Auburn. Because nothing matters right now other than that.

I definitely think Daniels should be in NY for the Heisman presentation.

As for the team, I would say we had an incredible if we ended up in the top 10. The reality is our defense is not good enough to stop the elite teams so a Top 25 ranking is probably more realistic. If someone guaranteed a top 10 spot today, I would take that in a heartbeat.

Looking at where we are right now, I think Alabama is a guaranteed loss at this point. Unless our defense finds a pulse, Saban is going to exploit every weakness we have on defense and I could see them beating us by 3 TDs. It would be humiliating, especially since I live in Alabama, but sometimes reality hurts and we currently have one of the worst defenses in the country and that's not even up for debate!

Top 25 is only guarantee. If he keeps this up AND the defense improves, we could end up top 10.

Why do you all keep saying this? I can see 9-3 with a loss to Bama, but A&M is not good and we get them at home.

Anything else would feel like a huge letdown. Went to Citrus last year

Washington has a serious test this weekend vs Oregon. I believe the latter has a good chance to win that game.

USC has four games on their schedule they can lose. Like LSU, their on the field efforts this year have been marred by porous defense. Caleb Williams is IMO no better shape for the Heisman than JD.

Why is no one talking bout Dillon Gabriel for Heisman? His team will likely enter the playoffs with a 12-1 or 13-0 record.

Top 15. Caleb won it last year with USC finishing 12 and Lamar J. won it with Louisville 21.

I think we split Bama and A&M and win the rest.

LSU would need to win out the regular season, make the SEC title game and at least show out there...

And he has to be on each game along the way...

Bama's offense is one dimensional. Their QB cannot beat LSU with his arm. I am more confident in this LSU offense to outscore Bama than I have been in a very long time, of course not counting 2019.

He just threw for 300+ yards on the road.

Milroe is playing much better as of late.

Not sure why he thinks their QB cannot beat LSU.
