Or could it be that Les never saw the need for it and never asked. I'm all for Alleva bashing, but the head coach needs to tell him what he needs.
Again, it's an assumption that Les never requested this, but he never came across as much of a strategist.

You really think Les was asking Joe for analysts? His big plan for the BCSCG was just run more option. He operated on "do it the LSU way", thinking that was enough to win. He never changed and lied about doing so.

For ADs at big time schools, it's primarily about the amount of money he brings in, not necessarily wins and losses.

Exactly. It's not Alleva's job to hire analysts. Amongst other things, it's his job to find money in the budget for any expense the athletic programs wish for. In this case, Orgeron decided he wanted more analysts on staff after seeing how thorough Alabama's game plan was and so he needed approval from a financial standpoint to go out and hire these people.
