What does it say about the draft grading process that Joe has shot up the board?

His talent, abilities, and measurements haven't changed, he's just in a different offense. What does that say about the grading process? Shouldn't he have been rated higher prior to this offensive change?

Regardless of offense, he’s also playing better.

First off, people have got to get out of the habit of saying players are moving up or down on the draft board. All of that is imaginary. Where people get drafted is where they get drafted. It's all guys on ESPN keep their jobs after making bad predictions of someone going early in the draft. They then later claim that that person fell down the draft board at the last minute. It's all made up

He did not play well last year. Players improve. That’s what it says about it. Not what you are trying to insinuate

This is a terrible take. Dude went from throwing 55% 16TDs looking pretty average but had some moxy. Now hes throwing for 80% and TDs everywhere. No shite he's going to turn some heads

Accuracy makes all the difference. Completing 80% says a lot.

That it's fluid and things change. It's hard to put someone high on a draft board when they're in low to mid 50s in completion percentage. But, have a year like he is this year and it's easy to justify moving someone with his numbers up.

It's a very inexact science, I don't think anyone doing the grading will even argue that.

he is still in college so pro scouts hadn't looked at him yet

bc heisman winners have performed so well in drafts and the NFL. You're not so smart either.

Too many people see these as the same. They are not. He didn't become accurate in a season. There were factors outside of his control last season that led to his percentage.

I think Joe will make a great NFL QB. I also believe what makes a QB great is intelligence of the game. He is a coach’s son and grew up knowing the x’s and o’s like the back of his hand. You can’t stress enough the importance of a QB having the ability to read defenses and gets rid of the ball quickly. Everyone wants a QB that can run. Im pretty sure Brees is one of the best QB’s all time simply because he can read a defense and get rid of the ball quickly. To answer your question last year was Joe’s first year starting as a college QB and in the SEC at that. It’s my opinion but right now if I were drafting in the nfl he would be my first QB off the board.

Uhhh am I missing something here? Heisman winners almost always get drafted in the first round if not the top of the first round

I can guarantee there were pro scouts at the Texas game watching Joe as well as several other players.

True, but very few recently (especially at the QB position) have had very successful NFL careers. Tebow, coke head from A&M, RG3, etc. if you go back 20 years, it’s pretty shocking how many QBs have won the Heisman but had mediocre to terrible NFL careers.

Who cares? It's all meaningless hot air from overpaid talking heads, most of whom have no idea what NFL teams are looking at, who they're talking to or what they're hearing. The only "draft board" that matters is the one that shows the actual NFL draft after it's over.

I might be able to dunk a basketball. But if I'm never asked to do so, you will never know whether I can or not.

He didn’t have time last season. He didn’t have guys who he could rely on besides Jefferson. And we were run first. All that has changed. But him making decisions, reading defenses, and knowing his protection well enough to get the ball out in time has played a huge role.
