What does a week one dominating performance mean?

What is the national opinion if LSU goes into Clemson in week one and just steamrolls them?

Would the narrative be that Brian Kelly finally got his team together or would it be that Dabo has lost his team and once again is spiraling?

I know it’s a long season but you can’t help but think that dominant victory in week one would really spring you into a great 2025 season similar to how LSU went into Austin and took care of business in 2019

It would definitely feel great, but it would be a long gap until the real test in Tuscaloosa that will determine where we go

Going to Oxford has not been kind to us lately either so Kelly has to take that one serious

But to be fair, no Meyer, as an experienced quarterback, going up against a new quarterback, and a new quarterback at Ole Miss. Clemson obviously has a better quarterback, so that will be the real test

At Clemson at Oxford at Tuscaloosa LSU has to drop one of these which of the 3 do you want to drop?

I think the narrative will be, "Let's see if LSU can keep this up during SEC play"

To the unrealistic positiger crowd - it would mean that we are heading to the playoffs, with a real shot at a national title.

To the unrealistic negatiger crowd - we won't know, because they don't show up during positive performances.

In reality - it would mean that we beat a really solid team and started the season 1-0, which is great. But it doesn't mean anything more, or less, than that.

Why? Ole Miss lost a lot. They continue to recruit well, but it's a new hodge podge of players that we don't know how it will work. They were supposed to be a playoff team this year, until they weren't.

Bama seems to be on a big time downward trajectory. Are we still just going to pencil them in as a loss because they are named Alabama?

I hate that we open at Clemson. I don't think they have the prestige they once did and I hate that they play hold that tiger and call their stadium death valley. I just want a win.

I doubt it will be a blowout one way or the other but if it turned into a 2007 VT at LSU type of ordeal that would be very nice. Couldnt care less what people say about Clemson then, you beat someone that bad to open the season it'd be a huge "man we've been waiting for this forever" moment.

Keiland Williams went crazy that game

A dominant win at Clemson probably propels LSU to top 3, may be even #1 spot depending on what other teams do. But in reality, that doesn’t matter much.

BK years 1,2 and 3–Loses the opener
BK year 2–No defense
BK year 3–No running game, no safeties, bad special teams
BK’s motto “We need to fix things because obviously we didn’t do anything to address our weaknesses during the offseason”
BK year 4–we have to start with a well coached Clemson team. Not good for us

In conclusion, Thank you LSU Baseball

Whoever wins the OSU/Texas game will be ranked #1.
