What do you see as LSU’s greatest need to elevate their level of play next year?

Besides an elite special teams coach, the greatest need seems to be on defense. LSU desperately needs more players to complement Perkins, at DE, safety, DL and corner. I’d be happy with the addition of an elite safety, elite DE, and elite corner. Two things stuck out vs Aggies and Ga, lack of sacks and tackles behind the line.

A new special teams coach

better secondary and more depth in the front 7 of the defense.

D-line depth 1st
Then linebackers then defensive backs
Then linebackers then defensive backs

Our special teams coach does not have to be elite. Just someone that is halfway decent

dl/ol depth + secondary. a standout wr or two that can make an immediate impact would be very welcome as well.

I think we'll be okay on the D-line. We probably need to take a transfer ILB. I'm just not sure if Penn is there. Perkins and Tollan are good pieces, but we need one more IMO. And then we need a ton of help in the defensive backfield.

TE, OL, convince Roy & Guillory to return, a jack LB, a whole new secondary pretty much.

Defense and offensive line depth

Maason Smith coming back helps but it’s still not enough. Need another elite prospect in the front 7 as well as a couple other guys to help with depth depending on who comes back. Need to get Desmond ricks and Javien Toviano as far as secondary concerns. These guys would probably start day 1.

Special teams coach and keep building in the trenches

Elite? I would settle for not a complete fricking disaster.
And a D-Line with a legit 8 man rotation.

All these are needs, but maybe it bears thinking about whether we would be having to have all these urgent discussions about our QB if we had an elite RB or two.
It might also impact how the discussion goes about which QB is the best fit for us going forward.
JD was our offense for the first half of the season and we do not win nine games without him.

A much weaker schedule is a sure fix, followed 2nd by more and more experience.
