I don’t care about pff grades

Throw out the grades, and Durham was still equal or better in every measure. Yards per play, forcing missed tackles, explosive plays.

Look man, I hope Durham stays, but time will prove Berry to be the better back. Let’s touch base end of the upcoming season and see.

I hope they both have great seasons. Durham has shown what he has. Berry will do that this coming season

I just haven’t seen anything explosive from Durham, he may have a top speed that’s fast,

He doesn’t. He has decent RB speed, but twice this season he was easily run down by DBs.

“ I don’t think yall realize how bad that O line has been”

The OLine has nothing with Durham’s speed. He’s noticeably much slower than his first couple of games as a freshman. Plus he is easily tackled by arm tackles. A real head scratcher.

y'all have done this with Nussmeier and guys like Chris Hilton in favor of more efficient, steadier players. Everyone loves a big, exciting splash play but there is more to success than that.

He has a higher average per carry (4.8 vs 4.4) and more long runs than Berry, but forget the stats, let's go by the eye test.

Durham was hurt through much of the season but still had more runs over 20 yards based on long rush stats in the gamelog (there may be more in a specific game, but I am not tracking those right now)

Berry
LA tech - 43
Bama - 37
WKU - 25

Durham
Clemson - 24
Florida - 51
So Car - 23
Vandy -51
aTm - 28
Arkansas - 27

We can use both of those guys back, we need some depth.

That may work in the Sunbelt conference

The guy averaged almost 5 yards a carry in the SEC behind a putrid O-line. That take is almost as bad as Houston gumbo.

Durham loves LSU, he has an LSU tattoo but if Lane fail to retain Frank, I think he will enter the portal.

He(Durham) never elaborated but mentioned something that was lingering that he was playing with for a number of games which seemingly was a good chunk of our games.

Made me feel a bit better about his production to that point, because that burst just wasn’t there.

He was hurt this year and never got a chance to heal correctly. With a new blocking scheme and offensive game plan that actually works bc we have an elite play caller and elite offensive mind im sure we will see a different Durham next year

Just the opposite. His top speed is subpar. He does have excellent elusiveness in tight spaces. Most of all, he almost never fumbles.

If Lane brings in another RB, I think Durham may leave being Berry hit more carries at the end but Lane may have let the RB’s know it’s open competition and the best man wins for next year under him, we’ll see.

Your right about 1 thing, you cant coach vision but it can be developed. I think people forget that CD was a TRUE Sophomore and Harlem a TRUE freshman. These are young backs who will get better with reps and it didn't help playing for an OC who refused to run the ball behind a dysfunctional run scheme. More reps, scheme change, commitment to running the ball and these young backs will thrive

He's way more explosive than Durham that's unquestionable right now. Unless Durham has a major injury for 2 years in a row he has no top end speed at all for a verified 4.4+ guy. To make this worse, he's ultra hesitant on hitting small holes which makes him look super slow when he first touches the ball. He goes down at the change of the wind and doesn't show any power either.

Absolutely, running the ball no comparison. Berry is quicker after the handoff, just as fast afterwards, and he had much better LOS vision. To be fair, Durham SAID in a recent interview, he was injured worse this season than last season. But that doesn't explain his lack of LOS vision where if he had just made a cut sometimes, there might have been a good hole. Your point about him going down easy IMO is only related to his lower legs...aka ankles. I have never seen a RB get tackled more at the ankle area. Other than that I thought he had good power if hit in the upper legs or upper body...just not the ankles. Psst, that is where his injuries always seem to be...the foot or the ankle.
