If you lose to a better team, at least be competitive.

Based on that article; LSU has been one of the worst performing teams in the nation, based on talent levels at each school, in the last several years (in before "UGA fan would know about under-performing")
Lsu plays Bama and Auburn every year. Other than bama and Auburn, who plays two teams off that list every year? Most of the schools can add an extra L every regular season if they had to play bama.
Based on just population numbers. The Answer is UGA. And always will be. The amount of talent coming out of that state is fricking insane. And all you have is Tech, and they generally don't go after the same caliber of player.

Wait...HOLD UP! NO MIAMI ON THERE?!
no, Washington is not on the list either
but both will probably be there next year, and so will UF & aTm
from the article:
quote:
Miami, Texas A&M, Florida, and Washington could be next up.
If these schools finish out with strong 2019 classes, they could join the club, thanks to good signing work in the 2016-18 classes.
Miami is at 46 percent and has a poor 2015 class (23 percent) cycling off the books next year.
Texas A&M is at 44 percent and could sign a top-five 2019 class.
Florida is at 42 percent, and the poor 2015 class (24 percent) will be coming off the books. With a strong class this year, UF could get back above 50 percent.
Washington is at 40 percent and will have the poor 2015 class (21 percent) coming off the books.
Washington gets a big boost next year with Eason joining the team, so a top 15 or better class probably puts them on this list

I want to see improvement on offense and special teams. significant improvement.
I want to see LSU in every game with a chance to win every game.
I want to see O win games "at the end" instead of losing them or not coming back to win.

I need to see him on another sideline next year.

**In theory, we should have been able to go out and get the best available HC in the country.. and they promoted an interim DL coach.
fricking ridiculous.

we (UGA) have had 2 on the list most years
Florida has fallen hard recently, but will probably get back on the list
and no, I am not saying that UF = Bama
eta - also, Gamecocks will have 2 this year and probably moving forward, with us & Clemson - if Aggie jumps in, USCjr will have 3 every year...

Not fair because different situations.
Imagine O taking over a Texas program that hasn’t been to a bowl game in three years.

based on this list, Texas is the biggest underacheiver in the NCAA in recent years
ONE winning season in 4 years? And that was last year (fricking Mizzou)
Texas is very likely to be a Big 12 contender every year in a hurry
the MAY compete for the Big 12 this year, and SHOULD be in the running next year (and winning the Big 12 gives them a helluva shot at the CFP)

if you read the disclaimer in by the compiler these rankings don't necessarily reflect your team composition. it was class rank based on signing day. doesn't take into account any attrition.
still, we have 2 deep plus that's better than most teams and can line up with the top teams unless we have to go deeper in the depth chart.
the big X factor to me is QB. a bad QB and the talent everywhere else has a hard time winning the championship. on the other hand, a differencemaker at QB is worth up to 15% on that rankings board, IMO.

Of course the talent is there, the narrative about Miles leaving the team bare is BS.

O needs to win now or LSU will fall to the back of the pack. Sec is ultra competitive across the board. Hell even UK is a tough out. State and A&M on the rise so the board can’t afford to let O linger if he’s not winning at a high level. No way with a 6-7 win season like predicted that LSU wouldn’t lose on some huge targets.

Also the big ? Is if LSU moves on from O is does Aranda really want to be a HC. Some say no. But some have said he does and actually has something wked out with LSU already if O I’d let go mid year. ?? Anyone know anything about this ? I think Kiffin would be dangerous with LSU talent and Louisiana recruiting base. Man of Aranda stayed at Dc with Kiffin as the HC. Wow. With that said I hope O wins but it needs to be this year.
