God forbid people rant on a message board with "Rant" in its name.

This is the biggest lsu site on the planet. Youre being naive if you think none of the people connected to the administration look at this site.

Its like they dont understand that we have the same right to be upset with the hire as they do to be ok with this hire.

The people that are happy,ok,or have moved on from this hire are the reason we will never reach Bama's level. How do you think bama fans, ohio state fans,or any blue blood fans would react if they hired a 55 year old career dline coach that has never ran a successful offense, defense , or program? Its astounding how many lsu fans are ok with this hire.

THIS. ALL OF THIS.

This is the long and short of it. Orgeron is changing his "plan" damn near daily.

It's a complete clusterfrick.

Let me fix it for you.

coach o really did nothing in his 3 month long interview for head coach.

He didnt run the offense.
He didnt run the defense.
He didnt run the special teams.
Please enlighten me to what Ed orgeron did.

In fact, the team played exponentially better under orgeron than they did under miles.

We lost to a 14 point underdog at home while they were missing tons of defensive starters. Sounds a lot like Miles.

In a perfect world I would have loved to hire Herman but he was never coming here. I don't care what retard "source man" aka "0-3 perdictor" random lsu hero said. He was never coming here. Even if Herman did come there with almost without a doubt be transfers and loss of recruits.

It looks like youre making the same mistake our AD made.
There are 70-80 qualified coaches inbetween Tom Herman and a guy that has been a career dline coach.
Its should make you pissed off that our AD went from Jimbo/Herman to a guy that was the worst coach in ole miss history. Let that sink in.
We just hired a coach that wouldnt get interviewed at vandy or kentucky.

We fired Miles because we know we need more than a great recruiter and great motivator with questionable game day coaching to go up against the most talent rich division in cfb.
So what does our AD do?

He hires a far less successful great recruiter and great motivator that has questionable game day coaching.

Its really mindblowing.

Any coach on the staff would have has the same record as IC. The teams they beat couldn't stop the run and the teams they lost to could. So according to your logic, we could have hired any coach on the staff as HC and we would be in great shape.

Pump away!!

He was interim coach.
I don't know anybody, except Da Coach O who cast it as a three month interview".
He used the opportunity to try to make a case for his own candidacy. Nothing wrong with that but Alleva did nothing to say he was interviewing for the job.

"We hire a career position coach that is the most unqualified hire in "big 6 history".

Rick, can you explain what you mean by "big 6 history"?

There has always been a certain level of weak bitching on this site but usually there were a couple threads where actual discussion about the tigers could be had. Now every single thread is polluted with bullshite, negativity and the same shitty played out jokes.

This is what happens when an elite program conducts a coaching search like its Fresno State.

I agree. How many examples of programs who have been consistent winners/borderline elite for 15 years, fired their "successful" coach and immediately won? On top of that, we are competing against a machine--a machine that not long ago was a rival but now the gap is just too large.

Off top of head, look at other recent programs:
FSU-forced retirement but ended well
Virginia Tech-Retired and TBD
Texas-Not going well
OSU-strange situation, one bad year, elite hire
Michigan- (maybe best comparable)-finally turning around
Nebraska-not exactly the same, still trying to get back
Georgia-TBD but not great year

But Brennen and Narcisse were pretty solid till O decides to offer Tua who we had 0% chance of signing. Thats a tactical error.

Exactly. The average fan doesnt realize what he has done by publicly offering TUA.

These qbs have reopenned their recruiting which means instead of our staff using all their time and resources on recruits that havent made a decision yet, they have to spend time and resources on trying to get those qbs back into the fold WHILE ALSO spending time and resources on backup plans in case they dont come back to lsu. It was a huge blunder that a supposed great recruiter shouldnt make. Someone that has successfully ran a program would probably know not to do that.
Our staff now has to back track and get these guys back on board and go after backup plans in case they dont stay with lsu. This is a massive frick up 2 months from nsd and we wont know the damage until NSD. CAN WE PLEASE HIRE AN OC? Everyday we dont have an oc lined up our rivals are asking recruits why stick with a place when you dont even know who your coach is.

This entire offseason has been one clusterfrick after another.
