Just checked the prediction thread from here a week before the USCw game….
I said 9-3
Lots of 10-2 folks

You do count them because they are his. How many recruiting cycles has he at LSU?

you said this in September..

Men. Nuss is good, really good. The defense is definitely improved and this team will get better weekly. I genuinely think this is a playoff team.

3 years isn’t long enough to reverse the damage O did.
You should still beat Florida.
There seems to be more problems than just lack of talent.
I'm so tired of the excuses for Kelly.
He's not the right guy.

We were plus money to make the playoff in Vegas before the year, we weren’t a preseason top ten team and our roster prob ranks in the 20-40 range with talent.
There were only 6 teams that weren’t plus money to make the playoffs. We had the 7th best odds in the entire country to make the playoffs.

I’ve made the excuse about the talent etc and I still believe that’s the biggest issue. He’s had 2 recruiting cycles to fix and deeply depleted roster.
But aside from excuses when he was hired I remember telling friends that it felt like we now have someone that’s gong to be good at all things. The details. The intangibles that are away from players and coaching them. Even with less talent we’d be better because of coaching and just an improvement on the sideline. That’s not been the case. Is the talent void too much? Idk but we don’t do the little things well, we aren’t particularly disciplined and we don’t seem to have a killer instinct. So we better get the talent up because we’re not making it up in the other areas.

I expected us to not completely piss down our legs in every single big game. But that’s what you get when you hire Brian frickin Kelly as your guy running the program.

Whoever ranked those rosters needs to be publicly hanged if you think LSU has a top ten roster in CFB. We severely lack talent defensively
The team has good talent overall, on paper.
The problem is there are some massive holes on the defensive side and the talent is young or busts.
Sage Ryan and Major Burns are 4 and 5 stars yet they play like 3 star true freshmen.

You just ended this thread. Cheers

10-2 ceiling
8-4 floor
A lot of variance on offense - on and off the field. Same guys you had on defense last year for the most part.
Didn’t expect us to devolve into a totally inept offense. Plenty of blame to go around there.

To be able to kick a fg? Punt? Rub the ball on 3rd and three. Manage the clock. Not take 12 yard sacks.
Have a defense that all 11 know the call. Too much?

8-4 is what I believe I predicted.

I expected the OL to be dominant, they're not.
I expected Nuss to improve as the season went on and climb the pocket, he's regressed to the point of seeing ghosts and lost all confidence.
I expected Kelly to not be outcoached as the season went on, he got schooled against USC, A&M, Bama and now Sunbelt William.
I expected us not to ride the mesh point on zone reads and be predictable for 90% of the season, we still do that crap with a QB that is scared to tuck the edge.
I expected Nuss not to have to check with the sideline on 2nd & 10 shown blitzes where predictable Sloan puts the O in a predictable run where all 11 Florida D players teed off.
I expected more mental toughness after A&M went in dry, they have folded like a shopworn fighter.

So he can only win with the best players? Then LSU fricked.

Dude, you can't name 19 teams with better rosters than LSU. Stop the bullshite.
This is BK's roster. He put it together... if the roster is not good enough, that's on him. Last night, Hanny basically said he's tired of hearing the same roster excuse.

Not this shite again. WTF is wrong with you?

I expect a coaching staff being paid as much as this one is to contend for championships, not go on a free-fall in the middle of the season.
