what did PM tell Crews when he pulled him aside with 0-3 count

It appears that he said don't swing at anything, and he didn't. To be somewhat fair, the ump bailed out the pitcher on the 3-1 count but what Crews was watching on the 3-2 pitch right down the middle and watch it, is really confusing.

It seem split between he told him not to swing, and he iced him by talking to him. Both are stupid takes, but here we are

He put doubt in the kids mind when he had as favorable a count as possible. You could see Crews was hoping for a low call on the final pitch. Good coaches put their players in advantageous positions, bad coaches take advantages and turn them into disadvantages which is exactly what CPM did.

If I had to bet, he told him that the ump bailed the pitcher out so he needs to stay patient...probably also told him that they may be pitching around him. The 3-1 pitch was also a ball called a strike. The 3-2 pitch was right down the middle. PM and Crews may have both been expecting them to pitch around him to a certain degree. And, they may have actually been doing that but the ump let the pitcher back in the at bat.

I think the team hits more consistently now than they did at the beginning of SEC play. Doesn’t mean we excel every game. We beat both of the teams you mention so anything is possible. I’m not going to predict that we win a series against them at this point because they are both excellent top 5 teams.
