And without a Spring or full Summer in the program. He didn't know everybody's name on the team in time for the first game.

By the end of that season, we saw his potential once he got comfortable.

If they don't it would be the most fricked thing ever. I imagine Jamar will get the youngsters in shape.

You think that was the difference in 30+ regular season TD difference?

Watching every NFL touchdown every week and integrating that info in the offense.

We’ll need that same creativity replaced.

Mi also saw his potential VS Ole Miss week 5

We could see a lot of ponteital when the offense wasn’t really challenged.

Not only pass catching improvements but knowing all the option routes and knowing their checks. You didn't see any miscommunications between Burrow and the receivers, these things are key.

Different sets, the bunch formations and more modern route trees and he changed the mentality from going conservative with a lead to putting their foot on the necks of the opponents when they got them down. The confidence and belief was out the roof and all these things played a big role in their success.

i think he didn't want to hang around w/o Burrow to bail his young arse out. it's part of the "it" thing. know when it's time to get the hell out of dodge.

Without the marked improvement in the catch/drop ratio we saw in 2019, Joe is not the Heisman winner and we probably don’t go 15-0 with a Natty.

Those and other drills and nuances that Brady helped develop were a key for LSU. Those things are not copyrighted nor did they leave with Brady.

Brady's getting less and less credit for the offense as the days go by. Can't say I'm surprised.

I personally believe that OC's get their directives from the HC and run a style that the HC is comfortable with and the personnel for. For example...Cowboys went from having a top-5 passing offense to a mid's 20's ranked offense over the course of 5 yrs w/Linehan. What changed? Personnel...they developed the most dominant OL in football with Demarco Murray and eventually Zeke Elliot. The defense also got consistently better during that time.

There is going to be a divide on this board about this hire until we see the product on the field. Before last season, we heard over and over from people here that they would "believe it when they see it" in reference to the spread. It happened and there was no doubt. For better or worse...the same will happen here and you and I won't change any minds before we see it for ourselves. Everything else is conjecture.

No, he didn't. Go back and look at the first few plays of the UCF game. It's on youtube. Here:
LSU runs the spread effectively before Joe Brady stepped on campus

Oh, bullshite! Burrow was starting to light up teams during the last quarter of 2018. He came to LSU with barely enough time to learn the players' names. He threw for barely 50% the first half of the year, then he started to blossom - before Joe Brady came.

He brought a high tempo, high powered offense attack to a place that has literally never had it. This kind of stuff is always idiotic, I mean what does Andy Reid bring to an offense and why can't LSU just mimic his scheme.

I think it was one of the differences. Another huge difference was that in 2019 we had a mature offensive line that could handle any team's pass rush. In 2018 we had a hard time with La Tech! Also, the receivers emerged. Chase and Marshall were freshmen in 2018.

why couldn't SE do it in 2018, then? it's not like spread concepts are secrets hidden away

That was the plan but the OL wouldn't hold up to give Burrow time. You saw the Spread in that season's bowl game. Even O has said the biggest improvement from 2018 to 2019 was the OL improved play. Burrow had time to survey the field, and let the routes develop for the WR's to get open.

The OL couldn’t hold up because we were actually spreading the field and we were running long developing passing plays, with 3 targets.

Our OL improved more because Joe had more targets to get the ball out to faster.

We put Joe burrow under center for the first time since middle school. That’s a bullshite multiple approach.

Also the bowl game was against defenders who didn’t belong on the field with our team and we scored less than Memphis.
