What did Joe Brady bring that he left with?
Posted by tigersnip on 2/11/20 at 7:56 am3211
He installed the spread but to me, the receivers pass catching improvement is key. We still have some of those players to pattern after....I think coach E taught QBs to quickly recognize defenses....so what Brady did was red zone play calling. I think this is what we miss mostly....what else?

I would think the work he did to improve the receivers has to be something which is continuously reinforced with the old players and continuously taught to the new ones. Whatever was done between 2018 and 2019 to improve the receivers was remarkable.
No sir, he had a patent and copyright on the offense and now we are doomed without him.
Coach E had to purge all knowledge of the concepts he ran for 15 games and now we are back to the drawing board. Such a shame.

The 60+ yrs of experience between E and Linehan will never figure out the magic that Brady had...according to TR
why couldn't SE do it in 2018, then? it's not like spread concepts are secrets hidden away
why couldn't SL do it the past, say, 10 years of his NFL career? why couldn't he adjust if he's so capable of it?

Brady was in a no win situation
Come back to LSU, start over with a brand new QB
Lose some games, stock falls.
His stock was at an all time high and he had to strike if the NFL was his ultimate goal.
If he wanted to be a college head coach he probably would have stayed.

A buzz cut that we will never recapture.

If the NFL was his goal than obviously achieving it makes sense
He could have stayed at LSU and become an OC
However it does seem like the NFL will promote a you f offensive mind faster than big P5 teams.
Kirby is the last big Coordinator hire I can Think of and he was DC at Alabama for 8 years.

His age. Haven’t you learned from our genius posters on here that the single most important factor in this hire was that they be young. Apparently being under 40 was the magic sauce that made our offense go.

Linehan will have to step into that role now, because MJ is a Recruiter; NOT a very good technical WR coach. (Get off the field Mickey and go recruit some more bad arse WR's).....

Here is my real concern
Brady spoke a lot about how you tailor your offense to your players strength.
Our offense with Joe was pretty complex. You can go read articles about how it requires a lot of pro-style reads and how fast a QB has to process things.
What happens when you don’t have a 5th year film junky with 6 hours of online credit to do besides football?
What happens when we try and plug in a freshmen or sophomore?
Can we adjust the offense to a guy who isn’t as far along mentally as Joe?
