Ohio State has always been way above ND in the last 20 years and you are wrong they had quite a few people that thought they could win, simply because they could score.

Just have to look at how many Ohio St players are in the NFL lately to see they always have a chance.

ND struggled to score against playoff teams.

Neither Miles or O were fired for winning division titles.

If coach Kelly can win and not be a jackass at the podium and in the streets, he already has those two beat

Miles was an idiot and Saban a jerk sometimes, but Jesus! Knock off the immediate dislike of someone not from the south. That's such bullshite!

It’s been three days, most normal people don’t know much about him. I’m sure folks will start to warm up to him as time goes on. Also McElwain didn’t get a 10 year 85 mill guaranteed contract, so we better start warming up to him because he isn’t going anywhere

I promise not to fire him on TD before the end of his 3rd game. That's as far as I'll go though.

If we held Saban to that standard he would never have won a Natty.

It appears he welcomes the challenge, if he has the fire burning in his belly I think we got a good one.

He certainly is more of a Coach than we have had since Saban. Not a flashy hire but certainly a guy that knows football and knows how to relate to college kids.

Don’t mistake this website as the majority of the fanbase. There are some real knuckleheads reacting negatively.

Yet 95% or more of the knuckleheads on this website are extremely positive about BK. Even us morons recognize a real coach when we see one.

it will be interesting to see how quickly he can get LSU back to where we were in 2019.

2019 ruined this fanbase. If that is the new expectation, we will be miserable for the rest of our lives.

Let's expect to have the greatest season in college football history at least once every few years.

This is not directed at you. You explained that you don't expect this level, but for some, that is the new expectation.

Kelly needs a bit of time to pull the pieces together for sure.

His 10 year deal means we are gonna have to learn to be patient. It would probably be year 7 before LSU could justify parting ways.

One thing to note about Kelly, in 2016, his ND team went 4-8. Since then, he's won at least 10 games every year.

A bad season doesn't mean this guy is finished.

I think Miles left Orgeron with more OL talent than Orgeron is leaving Kelly.

Yeah, there were some holes on the roster in 2016, didnt have lots of DL depth and OL was a little thin also for LSU standards. We did have a full roster though full of talent. There are some spots LSU is strong Now, DL WR and QB but really every other position isnt where where we were in 2016. I think it will take at least 2 years to get us playing good football and 3 or 4 to to be on a championship level if he does things right and things go our way.

yeah i’ve hired some of the media saying “he’ll have them in the hunt for a national championship next year.”

That ain’t happening with this roster—we are so thin.

And then they’ll criticize him for going 9-3

Proof is in the outcome of their feeble attempts.

So LSU didn't have a team good enough to contend for a title in 2011 based on the outcome?

We had a Great defense and so so offense we were not as good as Bama but could have beat anyone else. We certainly could contend. Not sure why you are comparing that with ND. lol

Are u trying to compare ND with 2011 LSU lol.

LSU won their conference, won a championship game, went thru the SEC west undefeated. HUGE difference.

u r a joke

Because the post said that based on the results of the playoff game, ND wasn't a contender. Looking at after the fact results is stupid in determining who is and who is not contenders. The fact is, ND was in the playoffs and thus was a contender. Just because they failed doesn't change that. If we solely look at the results after the fact, then LSU in 2011 wasn't a contender.
