What better way to celebrate 20 years of @walk_ons than awarding a special NIL deal

Looks like he played in three games last year and more importantly earned SEC Academic Honor Roll in Mechanical Engineering.

Doing his part on and off the field

I always have great respect for the walk-ons. They do everything the scholarship players have to do. Yet, they rarely get any recognition. It's almost like being a volunteer "employee".

I lived with a walk-on for a few years in college. In the summers he would go through all of the morning workouts, then take a few classes, then leave to go work a construction job in the afternoon to pay for school/living expenses. ALL simply because he loved playing football and was just happy to be on the team. He rarely ever traveled on road games, and there were even some home games where he didn't dress out. Imagine doing ALL of the work, practicing, etc, and you don't even get to be on the sideline during the game. (This was 20+ years ago to the rules may allow all walkons to dress for home games now)

That's awesome.

Would actually be pretty cool if walk-ons made this a yearly thing.

It's amazing how that chain and Cane's and pluckers have grown and expanded outside of Louisiana. Have always enjoyed all three

Pluckers started in LA? I didn't know that.
I was going to LSU when the first Cane's opened up outside the North Gates. Little tiny drive thru.

This is really cool of Walk-Ons. I like the idea, very nice. As a Mech Eng graduate from LSU, I will have to say it is impressive to take those classes, go to workouts/practice, do homework, etc.

I kinda thought they were already doing this. Since NIL started, Walk-On's has made regular social media posts recognizing outstanding walk ons at various schools where they have locations. I figured they were giving them a little money.

Ate at Walkon’s today, boom boom shrimp poboy, red beans, and a cup of gumbo.
All outstanding. Plucker’s was started in Austin.

Nice. Thanks. I'll still eat there despite that fact.

ME is a brutal lesson in time management without football. I couldn't imagine making that work while playing. That kid should be able to name his employer and location at graduation.
