Yep, I said this when they were playing last weekend.
Were you also saying LSU should want DBU over Little Rock?
Regardless who it is all the teams left can be a threat.

I would rather have played Clemson
I don’t necessarily disagree with you on that point, but it wouldn’t be based on this particular stat. Clemson was 19-4 in games decided by 2 runs or less. If anything, this suggests WVU had a little luck compiling the record they did, much like Clemson did before it caught up with them.

LSU is 12-7 in those games. 6 of the losses to SEC teams and 9 of the wins vs SEC teams.
So there is not a great difference there.

You guys are ridiculous....all the "I know they didn't play a tough schedule" BUT
They didn't. They are a good team. They are not an elite team. They can win, but LSU will have to pitch badly or hit badly, or both.
Quit trying to make this anything else. LSU is the biggest favorite to advance to Omaha. LSU is more talented and at home. LSU hasn't lost a series all year at home. LSU SHOULD win.

Mr know it all over here

Yeah.....I know it all. I know that LSU is more talented, and is at home where they haven't lost all year, and have two dominant pitchers.
I also know that any team can win, and that includes WV. LSU is the biggest favorite for a reason. That's all I know.

we've only got one loss when leading going into the 8th inning. I think it was just being up but it may have been 2 runs or more

"So in games where LSU scores more than 3 runs over what their opponent scores..... LSU wins."

You don’t want to play the hot team. WV is scorching right now. It’s like UNC last year when we played them. Emphasis on hot team right now. People on here purely looking at statistics don’t know baseball.

Isn’t every or most teams in supers hot? They did win a regional after all.

I'm just saying he hasn't been built up to throw 109 pitches in a game

You are as hot as your next pitcher’s start. I like the chances of our next 2 starts over theirs
Posted on 6/6/25 at 8:31 am to GruntbyAssociation
Yeah, it is like UNC last year, except for the talent levels of each team. Damn guys.
Posted on 6/6/25 at 8:33 am to vidtiger23
You damn sure aren't going to play a slumping team fresh out of a Regional win....lol

Also we are 38-2 when leading after 6.
Another stat I found interesting for this weekend: we are 31-4 when our opponent fails to hit a homerun. WV only has 2 homeruns over their last 6 games. They average a hair under 1 per game.
We are 28-4 when we make 0 errors in the game. We are 19-2 when our opponent makes 2+ errors.
Our magic number in runs scored is 6.
When we score at least 6 runs we are 37-1.
When we score less than 6 runs we are 9-14.

4-3 and 13-12 wins over Kentucky is scorching? They had a good road win over Clemson in the regional, but Clemson also lost 16-4 to Kentucky, so how much was WVU and how much was Clemson playing poorly? Obviously they aren’t in a slump winning the regional, but I wouldn’t say they are scorching either. I would put their performance on the low end of the regional winners. Prior to regionals, they were 2-6 over their last 8 games.

39-2 when we score 5 or more runs.
2-1 when scoring 5
the record doesn’t start to tip the other way till we get 4.
