re: Wes Johnson: If we were playing in our home park, we would have had 3-4 HRs!

Did you actually listen to the interview? He came off salty as frick. Had multiple chances to give us the smallest amount of credit and continually bitched and moaned.

This is true. When give a couple of chances to at the very least say “credit to LSU” he refused to.

It was pretty disrespectful to a team with many players he knows well (Tanks, Milazzo, Pearson, Travinsk, Jones) How bout say something nice about Herring who he worked closely with last year.

Apparently, access to it live is prohibited and rumors are Georgia was skirting that rule and recording the away dugout. Schlos and DVH have talked about it without naming Georgia, just that someone was busted doing it.

That's why the Vols never look great at Omaha.

And they play on turf and a 13-14 year old all star team could run the ball out of that small park. Same with UGA

Condon would have 20-25 homers tops if he played 70% of his games at a normal size park. Not 35

Gotta love that Georgia and Tennessee pound their chest about hitting HRs and both play in the smallest parks in the SEC!!

Jay Johnson dragged his big ole nuts cross Wes's chin today. I think I saw Jay tell him "How dem nutz taste at the end of the game?"

Wes replied "Salty"

At least that was my observation but can't be for certain

That’s the dumbest comment a coach has ever made.

3-4 runs wouldn’t have won them the game so it’s a moot point

I mean our HC said “We’d be in first place if we were any any other league beside the SEC” like 2 weeks ago.. coaches say dumb shite all the time

If Jay Johnson had a press conference like the one Wes Johnson had today, you’d be crucifying him.

You were complaining about Jay Johnson saying we were a top 15 team 3 days ago. Here we have a coach who, when asked if he thought his team deserved a national seed, said “I don’t know,” and proceeded to instead complain about the possibility of a 13-win team making a regional.

I think most people would agree that declining to promote your team in order to take cheap shots is way dumber than saying you think your team is better than their RPI.

I have to admit, I don't recall seeing a saltier post game conference.

He came across so bitter, and to be honest, threw his own team under the bus just to avoid giving LSU any credit at all. It was just a weird vibe. Obviously some bad blood left over between him and LSU.

Although I did not pay that close attention, I thought he was pretty solid. After seeing that, I'm not sure he's ready to lead a winning program.

That must be part of ther reason their big hitter has hit so many HRs. Cracker Box field in GA?

Precisely Wes why Condon and company have so many HRs playing in that home "band box" field.

Huh? I never said what Wes Johnson said wasn’t stupid. Thats actually exactly what I said. That’s my whole point. Coaches, even great ones like Jay, sometimes say some stupid stuff.

Hate to burst everyone’s bubble

Foley field is not small.

LF: 350 ft
LC: 370 ft
CF: 404 ft
RC: 365 ft
RF: 314 ft

So there’s a short porch in right, but the right field power alley is the same as Alex Box. And Condon is a right handed hitter. I haven’t kept up with him much, but he seems to be more of a pull hitter, not really taking advantage of right.

I just think it’s funny how a guy who is always complaining about what LSU coaches say at press conferences suddenly chalks up a really stupid take from another team’s coach as, basically, coaches being coaches.
