Listening to Jordy today and he was discussing the cache of funds that are being acquired now for NIL. For a school that prided itself on NILSU we really flopped when compared to A&M, Bama, and even Arky. This is recoverable for LSU sports, but you gotta think it’ll be more costly now.

Hogs should be able to compete with anyone as far as NIL deals go. Between Walmart, JB Hunt, and Tyson they should be throwing some big bank at any recruit. I hope we can throw some stupid money out there to compete with the others.

I think you are correct. I also think the NILSU stuff was awesome when they did it. The problem is that boosters probably believed we had it under control. If anything it probably alerted other schools to get things ramped up.

It’s going to be hard to compete with Texas oil money.

But, jimbo is still their coach.. so they’ll never win

LSU treated NIL how it was intended to be. Let the players go out and work on their own deals, give them access to the university’s brand, and promote the shite out of the players.

They didn’t realize that other schools were more organized in facilitating the deals. They know now and are working to catch up.

They also believed LSU could recruit itself and NIL wouldn’t have a major impact.

That was blown up

They also believed they were ahead of the curve with NIL

That myth was blown up.

It’s the Wild West of SMU days and LSU better jump on that train.

They missed huge on this. It's nice to make a fancy video but there was no execution and the evidence is out there that we failed.

I think it’s hilarious that we went into Times Square with NILSU commercials and marketing the first day but had zero plan for execution

Because LSU thought that’s what they could do to best help their athletes on NIL. They were naive to think that since the school’s aren’t supposed to be involved with the deals that the school’s would actually follow that.

They didn’t realize that there was no real market for NIL and that, instead, NIL as going to open the door for other schools to collect and distribute new money for pay for play.

Yea I think that’s the biggest thing. We had the biggest red carpet roll out, but failed to even walk it. Now it’s national news that LSU/LSU boosters don’t pay as much.
