No this isn't sarcasm. All negatigers need to get on board and support the players and coaches. Everyone is very mean to Coach Ed Orgeron and he doesn't deserve it the man is a hard working man who loves LSU. That's more than most can say!

First off, everything you stated about him being a Louisiana and LSU man is totally and completely irrelevant and makes you sound ignorant. Now that that is out of the way, no, he does not deserve an extension. We just fired a guy for doing the same thing. He also, competed for NY6 bowls. He hired a staff that resulted in the worst recruiting cycle in recent memory. Then as the season progressed, he and the staff he hired, posted the 104th best offense in the nation. He has routinely not delivered on anything that he publicly stated he would and that was used as a prerequisite to hire the man in the first place. LSU has won in spite of Ed Orgeron. Not because of him. Nothing has changed from a culture stand point.

This is no surprise. The harder it is to fire coach O, the safer JA is to keep his job. This is the reason for the ridiculous buyout to begin with.

That's the only "net metric" I use. It was the same for Miles.
Unless you are Bama, you have to win the west to get to Atlanta, and you have to get to Atlanta to get into the playoff... only then are you "competing for championships". ONLY then can you say those words.
So win the West. 2nd place is competing for the West. We're not competing for a division title. That is not worth an extension.
And then take on the offensive ranking. I'd add defense too with 2 or 3 1st or 2nd rounders running around as non-freshmen.

LSU fans seem to accept that there's no way to beat Bama or win the West, yet Auburn did it twice in 5 years.

Why in Earth would you give an extension to a coach that literally no other Power 5 school would even consider hiring?
I think most Lower division schools would pass on Ed. So Joe Alleva will give an extension.
I dislike Ed as much as anyone as HC but Alleva has to be the first domino to fall if we will ever be relevant nationally again.
