Weird BK stat: He has a higher SEC win percentage than overall win percentage at LSU

Overall: 17-7 (70.8%)
SEC: 11-4 (73.3%)

Weird. For most coaches their in-conference record is usually worse.

Who is the 3rd Non conference loss???

Nevermind I see your error. His SEC record is currently 11-5 not 11-4…

Incorrect, his current SEC regular season SEC record is 11-4. Regular season is the key.

This seems misleading.

He only has two no non-conference losses.

FSU twice

SEC losses
Tennessee
A&M
Georgia
Ole Miss
Alabama

His non conference record is 6-2. 75%

7-2 after Saturday. 78%

I would say mid to late 2000s the sec schools started stacking the first couple weeks of their schedule. I would say lsu was liberal with it compared to the rest of the conference. A possible issue is everyone else took the foot off the pedal before lsu did.

In that case, his regular season overall record would need to be adjusted to 16-6 and a 72.7 win percentage

If your counting his SEC losses along with his other losses then unless he was undefeated (in non-SEC games) his overall record would always be worse than his SEC record?

Am I missing something?

Why is this so difficult for you?

He’s been here 2 years and lost to FSU twice. Given that we play more conference games, a non conference loss has a bigger effect on non conference win percentage.

It’s really not weird at all

Misleading stat at best. His record vs SEC teams is 11-5 or 68.7%.

Overall: 17-7 (70.8%)
SEC Regular Season: 11-4 (73.3%)
SEC inc/PostSeason: 11-5 (68.7%)
OOC Regular Season: 5-2 (71.4%)
OOC inc/PostSeason: 6-2 (75.0%)
Home in TS: 11-1 (91.7%)
Away Neutral sites: 1-3 (25.0%)
Away Opp Stadium: 5-3 (62.5%)
Away Overall: 6-6 (50.0%)

He didn’t say regular season and also had overall correctly including post season. So you are incorrect.

As he continues to Coach at LSU those will start to level out and increase in %.
