Lol no they wouldn't if the radar is showing what it has been showing. This is a crazy strawman.

I'm honestly surprised Rhode Island or DBU didn't bring this up last week.

I saw someone post (maybe in this thread?) that they did blow up on the NCAA rep about having to play a DH after a 2 AM finish. No idea how true that is, but it wouldn’t surprise me.

I’m confident that I understand it better than you. You are going to smokescreen that the decision includes NCAA collaboration. But the reality is they almost always go with the call of the school appointee whose job is to monitor and assess the situation.

This opens up an avenue of impartial influence.

Think about it: rules haven’t recently changed. Weather patterns haven’t dramatically changed. Where was this “9 inning game block” expectation pre Johnson. Rain delays actually had rain and lightning, not 3 hours of sunshine.

He should have zero say when the game is played. It's his job to figure out his lineup and weather might be a factor. Deal with it.

I’m convinced that LSU locks the NCAA rep in a closet until the series is over.

I’m sure the coaches did behind closed doors, but they don’t have the fan base or the media contingent to draw any real attention to it.

If LSU lost due to a weather delay and wasting the Eyanson start, this board would meltdown.

Again... if the radar is showing what it has been showing today, no they wouldn't.

Keep going with the strawman though.

At this point the meltdown would be over not letting the game start at scheduled time and getting more out of Eyanson, rather than delaying additionally.

You do realize if the game at started at 5, we would be soon reaching the point of pulling him out anyway? The 2 hour delay would have hurt more than just playing.

This scenario actually played out in 2023. The fans didn’t have a meltdown but Jay Johnson did, ushering in the era of “potential weather” delays.

Jeez. Everyone wishes this game started on time. It didn’t. Move the hell on.
