Weak schedule in the beginning hurt us

We played BYU, Chattanooga, Ms state, Syracuse and Troy so far this year. Coming in to 2017 with a brand new coaching staff, a young team and everything to prove, having to play weaker non-conference teams isn't the best situation to get the players pumped up. I am optimistic going forward and the win against florida might be what was needed to get the team together. Geaux Tigers!

We have already lost 2 of those games, and you are wishing we would have started off with a tougher schedule?

Yea, if only we had played teams tougher than Troy and Mississippi State.

You want weak opponents early with a new coaching staff and young team. You want to get momentum on your side by beating up on less talented opponents and getting everything in working order, then be prepared and in full operation for the meat of your schedule. Of course O is a terrible coach, so he couldn't build momentum against cupcakes like Troy, Syracuse, and Moo State

OP you know nothing about football, get off my board

We didn't look too bad in the first 2 games and we beat them easily too, basically having to hear we beat a couple of nobodies. Not really encouraging for a young team to perform.

That's ridiculous. If there was ever a season where we needed a couple of cupcakes at the beginning, this was it.

It's apparent to me that many people have no idea of what to expect. Every game is a mystery. The truth is that we aren't a very good team. We aren't going to "turn it around" or "get it together".

The hope is that we grind our way (winning ugly) and win 6-7 games. That would be a good end to the season, IMO.

I know what you mean man. If only we could've played Michigan, Clemson and Oklahoma, we'd be 5-0 by now.

I agree with you, but for different reasons. A weaker schedule in the beginning prolongs O and Alleva's tenure. If we were 2-4 right now, talks of relieving Alleva (at least) would be more abundant.
