Waiting to see the defensive player lists in the last 5 years….maybe there’s your reason

Not many LSU starters in the NFL on defense after that 2019 team. LSU used to be tops in defense in the country but over the last 5 years we have been closer to the bottom. On paper it seemed the talent was there but on the field it was a different story. If LSU had at least a top 50 defense in the last 5 years i believe playoffs would have been there.

Completely agree, it's all cream at this point.

Three football titles and seven baseball titles since 1991 (not to mention the WBB, gymnastics, and all of the track titles) is a record the average fanbase would slaver over.

I want more, of course, but that's damned respectable.

Claim 2011. Bama doesn't deserve it. They lost at home and didn't even have to play their CCG. I'm hoping some scandal happens and they retroactively have to vacate wins.

Well 3 of those did win one. Thank BK and House for blowing the other one.

BK doesn’t seem to be the type, but not sure about House.

The owner of Barstool convinces best QB in HS to go to QB dumpster fire. Did not learn anything from above...

Beating UGA and Michigan last year

Did UGA make the playoffs last year? I seem to remember Florida St and Bama in there, but not UGA

I always thought 2006 may have been our most talented team ever. Overly conservative gameplan for 3 quarters and some unfortunate calls that went against us lost the Auburn game and I have a long laundry list of reasons we lost the Florida game none of which had anything to do with them being the better team.

UGA was #1 going into the SECCG, Bama beat them and knocked them out and Bama went instead over UGA and undefeated FSU. So for LSU to win the 2023 NC we would have needed to beat UGA in the SECCG and eventually Michigan. A tall order.

It’s easy to look at Daniels, Nabers and BTJ and compare to Burrow Chase Jefferson but the 2019 team was loaded beyond those 3. Stingley went on to be a top 3 pick and is having a great year. Chaisson and Queen went in the first round with Burrow and Jefferson and I think at least 3 OL from that team are starters.

Almost all of those statements are stretches.

Best qb in the afc, thats very debateable, especially over the last 5 years.

Best receiver in the AFC? Nah, i love chase and what he did for lsu. And he is a great nfl receiver, but he has limitations. Tyreek has been that guy for awhile.

The most egregious of them all is calling daniels the best nfc qb.
He is the best rookie, but come on. Hurts is better at the moment, as is goff, darnold, and mayfield.

Best rookie receivers, ill agree with

I’m grateful with what we have won. Before 2003 I didn’t think I would ever see LSU win a national championship in my lifetime After getting that first one the rest are just lagniappe.

This.

Can you imagine going back in time to say 2002, telling someone in BR NOLA, in the next 20 yrs, LSU will win 3 nattys/almost 4 and the Saints will win the Superbowl?!

You’d have been committed to a behavioral ward in a padded room

No shite. That statement will be etched on my gravestone.

The reality is, too much of our fan base is good with just "being better than most".

FLUCK THAT.

We should dominate in both sports that matter nationally. For the mouth breathers, that's football and men's basketball.

It begins and ends with an administration that drops the pretense of playing by the rules. That went out the door DECADES ago.

You do what it takes, period!!!

And you stand by your successful coaches, telling the SPINELESS NCAA to fLuck right on off, and either never hire or get rid of the ones that LSU wins in spite of, not because of.

Bama beat the shite out of us in the championship game. All LSU had to do was get a little creative on offense and maybe the outcome would have been different.

2006, 2010 and of course 2011 did win it but we’re screwed by a mulligan. At the least it should have been split that year.

Depends on how you want to look at it, Hill looks like he’s at the end. Chase could win the Wr triple crown this year which only 4-5 guys have done.

I agree i can’t call a rookie the best QB in the NFC but if the competition is Goff and Hurts he can make that claim with another year or 2 like this one.

Best overall QB? Can’t make that claim.

LSUFootball tweets out how "clutch" JD5 is and video is literally him heaving the ball up for a Hail Mary that gets tipped another 8 yards and his WR catches it in the endzone.

Yea that 2019 was loaded, and went above and beyond all reasonable expectations. That team not only took care of Bama and Georgia, but also Auburn, Texas, Aggies, Oklahoma and Florida in the regular season. Indescribably awesome team
