So by next year? He’ll be a draft eligible sophomore and gone. Love him but he’s not putting up Crews numbers.

Yes. Next year Curiel will have equal bat to ball stats and defensive stats as Crews.

Crews is better but only because he has power that Curiel doesn’t. Pure skill wise there’s not a lot separating the two.

They are both special. Crews was just more physically developed.

Skill wise they are very similar. Talent wise Crews wins everyday. You can’t teach his size and strength. They’re just different kinds of phenoms.

Not really comparable right now because Crews’ body was physically more ready and he had more pop and was a better baserunner and outfielder, but Curiel is special. The kid is an absolute baller and plays with unbelievable consistency for a young player.

U retarded. Dude is the real deal. U do remember we were down to last strike Fri night and this dude clutches it. And that wasn't his first clutch hit this year. I mean he was a top 10 player in the nation out of high school. He puts some weight on this off-season and look out.

Curiel is a pure contact hitter. Crews was definitely more powerful but as a hitter its a toss up. My take glad both are tigers.

Crews was better as a freshman. Both were very mature baseball players as freshmen, but Crews was the total package AND he improved incrementally every year.

Having said that, Curiel has a more room for improvement. Obviously, he could add more consistent power. Crews didn't have any holes in his game as a freshman, other than he struck out a bit too much. He fixed that, and the rest is history.

I would love to see Curiel hitting . 360+ with 20+ home runs as a Junior.

As great as Crews was as a freshman, the most amazing thing about him to me is that he got significantly better offensively and defensively every year.
You just don't see you best player from the previous years team, also the most improved player.

Crews is better, but Curiel has time to make up some ground. Curiel is a special player. As far as Crews being the best in SEC history, I disagree. There is a long list of really good players to come out of this conference. One is Ben Wilkerson of the Gators. (1996-1998) Skip Bertman called him Super Boy. Also, J.D. Drew of The Vols.

played for Florida state. You’re thinking of Helton or Chris Burke.
