People really need to reanalyze the dropped passes crap they are saying. The stuff these guys do is not as easy as they make it out to be every ball that hits your hands should not be caught. There were drops the other night but many were either the db making a play on the ball, i.e. clement in the 1st quarter, or a pretty difficult catch, i.e boone over the shoulder attempt in the first and the pass to OBJ deep down the middle at the end of the first. everybody wants to cut lee some slack but is quick to say the receivers have stone hands. There is a distinct difference between something that should have been caught and something that could have been caught. Regardless our passing game, both qbs and wrs have to improve for us to have a national championship run

Never was a big fan of Jordan Jefferson. No I'm not saying this because Lee did good on Saturday. Is Lee a great QB "No" but neither was Mauck and Flynn, but they got the job done. I smell another National Championship!

Flynn was a much better passer and Mauck was much more mobile than Lee.

I'm not sold that JJ is a better option, though.

I got on the elevator with several LSU fans after the game. Us and 2 others were pumped about the game. 2 other debbie downers thought we lost I guess. Dude kept saying we've got a crappy QB & coach....

I just finally had to say relax guys, we WON the game vs #3 team in the nation. They still didn't look too happy.

JJ is gone, and we all know everyone bitched about him, now the ranters are on JL. Heaven forbid if JL goes down and Mett comes in and has a bad game...it will never end folks...

Meh. It's par for the course.

The spoiled children among us will never be completely happy with a win.

No need in letting it bother you- because it'll never stop.

I think he put some passes in places they should have been caught, and I think the DB's covered well on some of those passes, so I am not going to bash JL. However, he does still look scared at times. I saw one where he skipped back after making the throw, he is still throwing off of the back foot as well.

If he can get over his fear of getting hit, hang in there and take the shots I think we could see some pretty impressive play from him.

Against Young inexperienced LSU receivers to say the least.

Meh doesnt matter who is wb. Gameplan is the same. If yall think lees going to throw it more than 20that times a game you are mistaken. I do think the jj bashers should apologize though. We will win some close games and the player haters and coach haters will be out in full force.

Not taking away anything from our victory, but do you really think Oregon is the 3rd best team in the country? Or even close?

We are a team to be reckoned with. Lee can play better and will have to.

We're gonna play better teams than Oregon this year and we can beat any of them. Let's see how it plays out.

Geaux Tigers!!

Hindsight is 20/20. That's why you play the game. Everybody in America picked Oregon to win so to answer your question....Yes. It's easy to say after the fact that Oregon is not that good, but they are definitely a top 10 team even after the loss.

I do think the dropped pass stuff is being a bit overplayed to rationalize the inevitable agendas of some Re: QB loyalties, which are always polarising among fan bases.

IMHO JL played so-so. Not great not bad. If he indeed is the horse we're riding he'll have to step it up in a couple of games later this year. I don't think that's critical. I think that's reality.

I think he can. I hope he does.

I am looking to the rest of the season with caution. We need to be back in Atlanta or I am going to be disappointed. Beating Oregon was a great win and an emotional game, but in my opinion they weren't the 3rd best team in the country and the year will prove that out. They were overrated in my opinion. As far as SEC play it's time for LSU to dominate. No more excuses and no more finishing 3rd to Alabama, Auburn, or Arkansas. The SEC is down and there for the taking.

I can remember Bama being picked No. 3 in 2000 and ending up with a losing record. Pre-season rankings are just that. That's why the BCS rankings don't kick in till later.

Not everyone picked Oregon. And I saw quite a few posts here questioning how a team that returned only 9 starters (8 if you include the suspended Harris not playing) could be touted so high.

Again, it's no indictment of LSU. We did what we were supposed to do against a team we are better than. It's a plus for us.

The reality is that IMHO there will be bigger challenges and as Les said, we need to get better in all phases.

Dude, really? If you think J. Lee played well enough to beat some of these ranked or unranked SEC teams, well you don't know jack about football. Turnovers, ground game and special teams won that game. The passing game pretty much sucked. Not saying it was all J. Lee, just saying there needs to be some serious improvement there.

Just to be fair I think Oregons defense is going to be the #5 or #6th best defense we see this season, so I don't think it's out of line to say he needs to play better.

Oregons D is not an SEC defense

BUT their defense held Auburn's potent offense in the national championship game to 22 points. Auburn gained a lot of yards, over 500 but didn't put up a whole lot of points. You've got to give their defense credit for that.

Absolutely, but it wasn't the same defense. If you include Harris being out only four starters back.

We did what we had to do. We need to improve and I expect we will.
