That just won their conference tournament to get in. That means they’re heating up at the right time.

Not saying in any way at all that something comparable will happen, but just remember this: Ole Miss was the last team into the tournament last year. It’s baseball. Strange shite happens.

Don’t sleep on this 4 seed.

You are never ‘given’ a game in baseball. Based on Hurd’s performance in the SEC tournament you go with him, period.

So are you ever gonna actually tell us who you’d go with against Tulane or are you just going to keep ignoring the question like you’ve been doing in this thread?

If you are going to go against Jay Johnson’s decisions, at the very least you could let us know who your starter would be.

Tulane is the one team in the entire field I didn't want to face. I know we're expected to win, but what happens if we lose that game and don't advance? Coach's seat would be beginning to boil

What I'm a bit more worried about, is wrapping up the regional.

We assume LSU will beat Tulane with Money, and beat Oregon State with Skenes.
After that, it gets interesting... assume Sam Houston takes Tulane out. Do they have a 3rd pitcher to force Oregon State to burn theirs, or can the Beavers go midweek/wholestaff against them, and save arms for the second game against LSU?

Our shallow pen could bite us if we're unlucky. If they can scrape past Floyd and whoever relieves him, we might be looking at Coleman and Little to pitch the 'if necessary' game.

We're very fortunate that our regional doesn't have much pitching to worry about. We should score alot of runs. Not guaranteeing that we will, but we should. Tulane doesn't hit well - they're not as bad as their record is from an offensive standpoint, but they're still not a good offensive team. Oregon St has a pesky offense, but not a powerful offense. Sam Houston can slug, but not sure they can do it against above average pitching.

Bottom line: We should score. Then, it comes down to limiting walks and errors. Our staff can handle this regional fine.

Kid: Dad, what does an eternity feel like?

Dad: The time between selection Monday and first pitch on Friday when your favorite team is hosting.

ypothetically, if that guy were to go 9 innings and give up 6 (I rounded up) to us, do we win?

We are 39-5 when scoring 6 or more runs, so yeah, probably. You are also assuming his 5.44 ERA against some pretty shite competition would apply against one of the best hitting teams in college baseball.

I will say this though, if for some reason we do not score 5 or more runs against Tulane, there should be some serious cause for concern win or lose.

Who plans to help Skenes to close out OSU in g2? If lsu goes to loser bracket, its over. OSU is at least as good as miss state. In fact they are better. Jmo. Using a top 3 starter against a 40 loss team is dumb beings lsu has such a poor executing bullpen tbw.

If you can't get by Oregon St with Skenes, you not going to far anyways.....we have a couple good enough to close out OSU after Skenes throws 7

Anyone 'cept Tulane. They're gonna be supermotivated just due to their historical animosity toward LSU

I’d start Javen game one.

Less risk of walking 4 in the first inning and putting lsu in a nightmare scenario

Save Hurd for the pen or emergency game four start imo

You have to respect a guy that has 100 Ks in 86 innings. Especially one that going to have a chip on is shoulder for practicing behind the left field wall every day in high school and not getting picked up by LSU

Any LSU pitcher will be a problem if the play in the field falters as it did last Sunday at GA

All it takes is getting hot at the right time. Tulane might be a handful f we don’t hit like we are capable

This thread is hard AF to follow. Lots of talking over each other and posters that haven't chimed in all season.

Also, TD posters are too accustomed to using the word fact(s) when they mean opinion. It's irritating.
