We had better players and they definitely had better Offensive coaching in my opinion. As much as I hate to say it I think Kelly is a solid coach for sure but wish we could have landed Riley. Imagine him with Baker.

talent was pretty evenly matched.

I can’t say LSU was clearly a more talented team.

I realize Riley just beat us but folks are majorly overreacting.

He also lost to Tulane in their bowl game with a Heisman winning quarterback.

He then followed that up by getting beat down at Notre Dame by 4 touchdowns and an 18 point loss to UCLA at home, last season.

He has the exact same record at USC that Kelly does at LSU, despite playing in a much weaker conference, and he's been owned by Utah.

This is definitely a grass not being greener situation.

This is subjective and cant be measured. They have a better WR group and RB group (of those that played). Their QB outplayed ours (not by much but he made the plays in the 4th when it mattered the most). Their secondary held up better than ours. They had nice coverage in some spots. Their Dline won the run game, our oline won the pass game. Our dline beat their oline. You just want coaching to be the singular scapegoat to suit your narrative

Ditto, we have a much better roster than USC and we will get better as the season moves along. Defense should get better under Baker. Hey, can't be worse than last year.

USC is a playoff team. It’s not the end of the world to lose a week 1 neutral site game to a playoff team. Especially when we beat ourselves with penalties. How many games have been this close with 100 yards in penalties, a few fumbles not go our way, and an unfortunate throw by Nuss that would’ve scored at a crucial moment. BK knows this is a really good team, and it is. They’ll get it together.

QB

Not according to QBR, which I'm not implying is a perfect metric, but I'll value it over someone's opinion that is just to parrot a postgame remark (which he denied...), and doesn't factor that USC was playing 11 vs. 10 on Moss's only TD pass, with the ability to take a shot without the usual risks involved.

I don’t know

Our qb is probably not as good as Moss, both our running backs are stank, they had some elite wrs but Lacy and the gang were just as good so push.

Our oline looked great in pass protection but bad in the run game, probably still better than them.

D was probably a push

I agree. Kelly has been a disappointment. Riley has also been a disappointment, but he did outcoach Kelly back on Sunday.
