Not saying 100% we get thru it but this bracket is best outcome we could ask for. If we win Chapel Hill then play Arizona regional winner prolly either Cats or Dallas Baptist.

Arizona and Dallas Baptist are really good teams, not to mention UNC.

Why do you guys think UNC is so bad they are a top 5 team in the nation that won’t be easy

I mean playing at home probably would’ve been easier.

Right they are a good team and would be a worthy opponent.

Sure. But all the 1 and 2 seeds are going to be really good teams. The goal is a Natty. It always is for LSU Baseball. I think being paired with Arizona's region gives LSU one of the better opportunities to host a Super, relative to all the other regions. I'll put Jump and Holman against NC's 2 guys and see what happens.

Love the pairing we got for a super. Do not love the regional draw we got.

name checks out. If being in UNCs regional makes you say this is the easiest path ever, there’s no way there’s another route you wouldn’t have said the exact same thing about. UNC is about as tough an opponent we could’ve possibly gotten considering we can’t land in an SEC host regional.

Um… UNC is one of the few teams that should strike fear into our hearts. They have two aces.

Still not over 2008.

Fans got overconfident with this week. Beating UGA, UK, USC in three consecutive games was basically the equivalent of what LSU has to do this weekend.

The difference is LSU got to avoid the top pitchers last week.

Except they’ll have to use Jump against Wofford, so he won’t match up against UNC. The thing that makes UNC very dangerous is that they pummel Sunday pitching. Their runs scored on Sundays in conference play were 6, 18, 9, 14, 12, 10, 14, 3, 16, and 14 and they went 9-1.

That would be idiotic. Only chance to get to a Super is to beat UNC with Jump and Holman.

I don’t think it’s idiotic, but I do agree based on the way UNC feasts on bad pitching that Johnson should roll the dice with Ack or Hurd against Wofford. It would be a huge gamble, but it probably gives LSU the best chance of winning the Regional.

Wofford is not a team you can afford to pitch anyone other than Jump.

They are basically Kentucky. They hit .340 as a team, and they play a combo of small ball and power. They lead the country in steals, like 42-46.

I’m not necessarily disagreeing with that, but UNC averaged 11.2 R/G on Sundays in conference play. LSU is stuck between a rock and a hard place on this one. They are going to have to win one with Ack or Hurd, so they have to pick their poison. Staying out of the losers’ bracket is critical, but I’m not sure they can beat UNC with “Sunday” pitchers.

Call me crazy....I'd go with Ack/Hurd against Wofford for the very reason you're saying..easier to get it on the front end against Wofford, IMO
