I firmly believe that LSU could beat James Madison, Tulane, even Alabama yet they get playoff bids.

Heck, even coach Sumrall agrees that they don’t deserve playoffs. If the coach doesn’t believe it then that should factor strongly i to the committee’s decision

I hope they extend to 16 next year

Yea, us before the injuries could hang with any team in the playoff.

Yes.

Alabama
We had a chance, played decent that game, and lost. Bama, Miami, and Notre Dame were equals and only two could go...the one head-to-head loser stayed home. I have no problem with a system where the whole top ten makes the playoff.

The point isn’t to make it where more terrible teams make the playoff.

There are only 3 legit contenders this year… Indiana, Ohio State, & UGA.

It’s fun to talk about but who cares about the rest.

And yet here we are as underdogs to Houston in the Texas Bowl. Just sounds like "woulda, coulda, shoulda". I am just ready for the January portal haul and the Lane Train era to begin in 2026.

Geaux Tigers!

better hope JMU or Tulane doesn't score 16 or it's over... We would easily need a defensive touchdown. I'm not even trolling, this was a program low on offense especially the last four games.

Gee, if only there was some way to see this play out on the field instead of having to rely on hypothetical scenarios....

20+ years, We can go back and forth about the 70s/80/90s... But in the modern spread/throw it around the yard era, barely scoring 13-20 points a game is about the same as 7 back then. Also, not even scoring more than 24 against a P4 opponent is a joke.

The CFP has gone from 4 to 12 but the expansion is, for the most part, meaningless. There are still only 4 legitimate contenders. Maybe one or two with an outside chance, but beyond that?

I mean, yea we could beat them. We could also lose to them. Our end of season team would probably be an underdog to all 3

I dunno...so we can include teams like Duke? Everyone's railing on Alabama but it's fricking insane that James Madison is considered a playoff team. Who knows...maybe the pull of a miracle and beat Oregon. But history tells us what is most likely in this situation.

Tulane hasn’t beaten anyone worthwhile either.

We would not lose to tulane or James Madison.

I mean there’s just no way

I just find it outrageous that Jon Sumrall announces to the media that Tulane doesn’t deserve a playoff spot and the committee disagrees. I realize that they won their conference and rules are rules but they didn’t beat anyone and I would think that the committee can make an adjustment since Tulanes own coach thinks they don’t deserve it. Not saying it has to be LSU but notre dame, Texas, and vandy deserve it.
